what is up with the match making?

I remember when it use to be be true match making. They’d match you up with your level or your skill level. But explain to me how my wife is a 17 and she gets pitted against 133, 80 and a 55. I only use her as an example b/c she’s the one playing right now. I have had this same problem just about every game. I understand that before bungie was the one setting up the match making. But there has to be some limit, i mean this happens just about every game. It’s a little more then ridiculous. If i have posted this in the wrong place please direct me where i need it to be and brought to the attention of the ones who in my opinion only have pay attention to the details of match making. Sure the come out with new stuff for match making but whats the point if the quality of it is brought down with such mismatched opponents.

Well Halo 4 uses the same system as Halo 3 and Reach to match people up in matchmaking. They all used Trueskill. Maybe those people she’s being matched up with have a matching Trueskill ranking despite having a high spartan rating. Remember, the spartan rating is just a measure of time played. Not necessarily skill.

Progression rank =/= Skill rank

Like alexbhood says, Halo 4 uses the progression ranks, identified as “SR” (Spartan Ranks), these do not reflect “skill” in any way, shape, or form, as it’s completely dependent on how much a person plays, not how good they are. Reach also used the Progression system, which if you remembered/played, is utter crap when it comes to matching skill levels.

If you want a matching of evenly skilled players, wait until the CSR (Competitive Skill Rank) is implemented in April. It’ll be skill ranks on a scale of 1-50.

When CSR comes out players will still be matched based on trueskill. Matching won’t change. You’ll just actually be able to see a skill based rank. Whether CSR is based on your invisible trueskill rank or on some other proprietary system, I’m not sure.

Where did you get lvl 133 lmao.Cap is lvl 130.

The SR level doesn’t mean anything in Halo 4, its means almost nothing in regards to player skill.

Level has nothing to do with skill as it’s progression based.

Are you sure you saw an SR 133? I’m pretty sure the level cap is 130.

Level has nothing to do with skill. I’m pretty sure I’ve destroyed level 130s before and been destroyed by levels far lower than mine.
