I get nothing but games where half the team quits or is afk and the other half run around the map refusing to fire their weapon while I get put up against a full team.
It’s really kind of BS and I’m starting to be done with MCC MP now as well like I am with Infinite. Have played like 10 matches and not gotten one good game where I get an actual team.
Same here, ive stopped playing with randoms only play stacked now because your teammates either leave or are afk. Only problem is that the other team if they are being beaten, they will leave.
And the rejoin feature, I havent seen it put in use. Except once. A guy rejoined the match, saw it was us again, and then left. Stuck in a 8v1.
I only play with at least 2 of my friends because as you guys said, going in solo is a terrible experience
Part of the problem in MCC has always been that they have allowed teams of 8 to play against randoms. It turns into a total stomping that nobody wants to play and the population dies.
Indeed. The only way to deal with trolls/afkers/quitters is to avoid searching solo (as 99% of the time you’ll find teammates with those characteristics). Find a team (either with friends or with players from LFG).

Yeah this is exactly why the population died and people stopped playing the game. The reality is there are exceedingly more people who play solo and they got tired of getting destroyed in social and stopped playing. I can beat the majority of players in those sweaty teams of 4 if I went against them solo the majority of the time. A lot of my friends and large chunks of the H3 MCC community are just as skilled as me and they don’t search social or hardly play anymore because they’re not trying to go against a full team solo and get wrecked because their other three teammates are casual players/noobs and have minimal skill (the reality is the other 3 people won’t hardly get any kills). They’re also not trying to put together teams because it makes the game too easy and boring (not to mention make it a miserable experience for the small amount of solo players left). And any other teams would just wait for us to find a match anyway since they aren’t trying to get destroyed. I refuse to make teams or play the game like most people until they re-add party matchmaking (which prevents teams of 3 and 4 to match 4 solo players).
In MCC I mostly play Big Team. It’s fun and quick to find games until you run into a team of 8 that just wants to play slayer in objective modes and stomp on everyone. Like you said, individually, they are average… But 8 average players playing coordinated can stomp 8 randoms easily. It’s amazing to see how fast the playlist dies when these groups get on.
Seeing how over the top 343 is with their super strict MMR and ridiculous matchmaking for Halo Infinite (all in the name of preventing smurfs and stomping), I would have thought they would at least implement party matching or limit the size of parties to prevent that sort of thing in MCC. But no…
343 continues to make decisions that cause less people to play Halo, both Infinite and MCC.
I strongly suggest Action Sack - really fun Halo and very few teams of 4 play it!
343 should increase queue times for teams of 4 and attempt to match them against each other more often.
Its a straight up joke these days. Lots of the AFK started when they thought it was a good idea for some reason to add auto-queue to a game that penalizes you you leaving. Theyre trying to be like COD for whatever reason and its sad.
Yeah it can be rough, especially against a full stack no point trying when they’re right outside your spawn. I’ve been in a full stack I don’t understand the appeal? It’s too easy and people just end up leaving whilst you’re playing hide and seek for the remaining folks.
Personally I prefer playing solo and time to time with one or two friends. It is what it is, also you’ll realise they’re familiar faces so add them as a friend and you’ll see whether they’re online or not and who’s in their session. Player count is so small you’ll likely match them so you can avoid them searching something else.
The full teams aka 4 stacks are in basically in every 4v4 social playlist I want to play (slayer based ones but they even search objective and the current fiesta playlist in rotation). I just don’t bother with the game anymore because it’s a waste of time to try playing it and having any semblance of fun. I tried today and the past several days - mostly just ran into teams. So of course my team will just go AFK / hide or quit etc - I am grateful when two people quit out on my team so I can quit out too without a ban. They should remove quit bans and/or give us an option to enable party matching on our end so we can finally have some decent games and most importantly have some fun on this game (it’s a miserable experience and not fun anymore). I watched some of these teams on Twitch today and they won with the other team getting not even 5 kills some games…
