I’m experiencing this weird skipping that I haven’t seen before Halo Anniversary.
I play like a hour of Halo Reach then it would start to skip with a groaning noise. The skipping comes once or twice (one time, 3) on my two hours of gameplay. When the skipping starts, it would momentarily freeze then freeze skip 3 times. It feels dangerous as it could be harmful to the Xbox, and I know the skipping shouldn’t happen at all.
I tried to uninstall and install to remove it, which it did not work. It has nothing to do with online lag because I played off-line
Its been happening ever since the title update for reach. 343i need to look into it as its getting more and more frequent. It happens in MM, FF and campaign
Never experienced it before TU or after, with disk or not, but if it is disk related I guess I won’t experience it now, I downloaded the game from marketplace. So, sorry.
I know of loads of people that experience this problem. From peplpe who have the game from the marketplace, play from disc or installed. They all still get the problem.
I have experienced this quite often as well, and have since well before the anniversary update. Seems it can happen at anytime when Reach is running; campaign, forge, online games, even in the menus.
Nobody else seems to notice when it happens to me online. On my end it will chug, something like 3 frames over the span of 5 seconds or so before catching up with itself. Hard to tell if inputs are even going through. Not sure if I can even be killed when this is going on.
My best guess is that it has something to do with the hard drive.
Somewhat related, the Mushihime-sama Futari 1.5 title has a bug that causes the game to chug momentarily at random, and only when the Black Label DLC is installed on the hard drive. Deleting the DLC from the hard drive fixes the issue.
I have all of the Reach DLC installed, but have not tried deleting it to see if it makes any difference. I only use CEA disc for campaign, so I’m not sure if this chug even occurs when using CEA disc for multiplayer.
Hoping this topic gets seen by someone who may be able to shed some light on this annoying issue.
Oh, ohh…oh…I HAVE experienced this before. The game will glitch up and studder for a couple seconds, usually in the heat of action causing me to die. Only does it VERY occasionally, and it had only happened on my old Fall 2009 model 360. So far with my new 360 Slim 250 Gig Internal HD with Reach from marketplace…has not happened.
I had a 120 gig HD on my old Xbox when it happened.
I have 250gb slim xbox 360. I even went and got a new hdd and it still happens. Only happems on Halo Reach though. I have tried all of my other games and no problems

> Sounds bad though.
it aint just with the disc, ive been having the samething happen with reach from marketplace.
This happens around three to four times when playing Halo: Reach. It happened before the Title Update but it would happen happen once between times when I turned on an off my Xbox.
It happens just when I’m in for the kill so that can be annoying. I just deal with it in the end though.
I have never experienced this and I don’t think that my friends have either. At least they haven’t mentioned it at all. Maybe bad internet connections?
Oh no, I have the Xbox 250gb Slim. I’m pretty sure it’s not the disk lag because it didn’t do it before the TU, and the disk isn’t dirty or scratched either. I take good care of my disk and games.
