What is this talk of no new covenant?

Frankie said that they did not forget about the covenant, so we might still fight them.

what if there is a section of the campaign where you are playing as arbiter and fighting telcam’s forces? We know that telcam has brutes and grunts in his command as well.

Just because he said that they’re not done with the Covenant, doesn’t mean they’ll be in Halo 4. Frankie’s already said “No purple” in Halo 4, meaning no Covenant. They already have the story mapped out for the new trilogy, maybe in Halo 5 they’ll appear, who knows, but the chances of them appearing in Halo 4 is very low.

To be quite honest, it depends on what you mean by ‘Covenant’.

If you mean, a collection of alien enemies hell bent on humanities destruction, then probably not.

However, I do think that we will be seeing some of the species from the Covenant such as the Elites, who we’re kind of BFFs with now.

I fail to see how no purple equates to no Covenant - if I recall correctly, towards the end of Halo 3 humanity’s Covenant allies sported green vehicles. And we still have two more book in the post-H3 series to go, leaving plenty of time for them to turn heel and fight us again.

Making such ill-informed assumptions at a time like this, where we have one non-canon reveal trailer, a concept art trailer and a book which does little to advance the plot beyond tying up loose ends from the Trilogy, is a detriment to your intelligence, my friend.

Basically this.

People seem to forget that Halo goes beyond the games. They’re not done with the “Covenant” AKA the remains of the Covenant. They’ve showed that with Glasslands. We know the rest of that trilogy will also include Elites and other ex-Covie races.

Hell, Cryptum included pre-Covie species, and it’s likely they will return in the rest of that trilogy as well.

Also, Elites are bound to show up in this new gaming trilogy…but in H4: very doubtfull.

H4 should be about Chief and Cortana on their own, facing a new mysterious enemy. H5 should expand the scale and bring in the other relevant parties like the UNSC and Elites.

Agreed, if a tad rude.

Have you read Glasslands? None of the Covenant races have the resources or time to go fighting humans at the moment, even less the ability to fully sustain themselves. I highly doubt that they could send an Armada to wherever John is right now to fight him.

In plus, this new trilogy is supposed to be new and different. Putting us against the Covenant again as the main enemy would get boring and uninteresting.
