I thought we’d be doing story…
As in Agartha or however your spell her name.
Not a story about fracture events

Honestly I thought it was an ad for something entirely unrelated to Fractures Entrenched until the Halo’s YouTube made a post about it.
343’s outreach needs a lot of work.
Extra universe lore from the alternate fractures universes, for those that seek to learn more about these alternate realities since the item descriptions can pique interest.
Has there been any word about what’s going to be coming out of the story? Is it going to be changing stuff that gets added to the game or anything like that?
People were asking for more story/lore on the fractures stuff, and what is there is interesting.
But I would prefer is the story for an in-game event was presented in-game. Not on the outside. I don’t need another cutscene, but I would have liked it the text and voting system was in the game itself.
What’s insane to me is the fact that infinite is such a garbage game that the MAIN content creators on YouTube haven’t even said a word about this new fracture event story beat. Game is dead lol
I would actually LOVE a floodfigth type within this fracture universe of steampunk Halo.
Like seriously, that would slap hard if they made the gametype the right way.
Like the door you can hack into in BTB, they could add that into that gamemode.
If you want to survive, you better hack open doors for a better chance.
Like zombies from black ops.
And in each room you climb you get some rooms with good equipment spawns and better weapons.
And a map designed from scratch specifically for this mode and fracture event.
Imagine a flood infected covenant base on earths moon with crashed steampunk UNSC ships around the base.
Lights in corridors flicking on.
Much like the moon map from black ops.
Moon map from black ops is my favorite zombies map btw.
This fracture event could be so much more.
When I click on the link it sends me to the Bing homepage.

https://www.bing.com/?ref=aka&shorturl=LastSkyMarshal
Why do I have to search for it myself?
https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/story-shard-the-last-sky-marshal
I’ve only seen this on the top of HaloWaypoint. Is this in-game anywhere?
I think the short url wasn’t set up properly. Only Microsoft employees can edit them. So it looks like a click farm to inflate the search.
Thanks for posting the actual link.
Lol it’s so badly written too. Every other sentence is some blatant exposition describing some piece of technology they think we’ll find cool because it’s a vague bastardization of lore technology.
I never thought this would be the only story content that came out within a year of the Infinite campaign launch…
I really hope this isn’t what they meant by story expansions for 10 years of infinite ![]()
Mostly it’s supposed to be a fun AU thing but, I’m not big on it. It’s supposed to be like old Serials from the 50s.
I’m thinking the ‘fractures’ element is in effect setting up multiverse-type setting now - for one thing it does set up reconciliation for the TV Show
I hate to say it, most prose-writers these days either rely too much on romanticism or exposition. I can’t say it is bad for myself, but it definitely follows that trend that gets tired quick.
It is also kind of meant to be an AU fan-fiction. So reliant on fan knowledge is a given.
I don’t know, outside just writing a whole novel (That would be a cool series actually, have a fractures series of novels.) I don’t see how they can do something like this differently.
I’m a writer too, but after reading it and putting myself in those shoes it is like “Okay, we have to set up a choose your own adventure, so I have to reign in how crazy I can take this. It has to be short, so I can’t expand on alot of what I say. It has to be Halo, so referencing is going to take up more space.” And that doesn’t count sending it to be checked and revising. Constraints can be fun to work around, but these have to set up a mini-universe as fast as it has to drop it for the next fractures event.
I’m not excusing it if you don’t like it. All this rant is about is that I would keep my expectations low.
I personally just think that this is a very poor choice in content to release. With it looking like 0 canon narrative added to infinite in the first year, it feels like a slap in the face for them to waste their time with this. My guess is that Haruspis just has the free time and wanted to do it and they let him because it doesn’t really cost anything.
I’m just confused why the only content released in the universe other than the book the other day has been non-canon… first the silver timeline TV show now this. It’s not just that I’m uninterested in non-canon stuff, but I’m also just finding all this content really… bad? cheesy? poorly written?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
They must know that content like this will only appeal to a small sub-section of the Halo gaming population. Most people want to play the game, not read a series of short stories. As already said … it’s cheap. Reading material as an add-on is okay, but not in place of actual game play content.
It’s about the bare minimum.
