we all seen this ship months but i have never really thought of talking about it here ir seen much threads about since it was shown. Its the ship that was seen in some sprt of conecpt art, it reminds me of the seraph from reach but i think it definitely isnt that.
Perhaps it is some kind of Forerunner ship, maybe the Seraph was designed after it.
It seems too long and skinny to be a Seraph, and too silver.
Besides, why would they keep a Seraph like this? They’ve seen/destroyed thousands of them during the war, why would this be so important?
If you read the books Cryptum talks about pillars that are very tall and also forerunner. These pillars, as I understanded it, turned into mechanical warriors.

edit: ok i just got put in my place i should do a little more research before calling people names and acting cocky, but are you sure 343 said that thing was also a cryptum?

The Cryptums have never described as spherical, in the book Cryptum they were described as long cylindrical pillars, not spheres.
This is a Cryptum. In the books, they were described to be an “ovoid” shape, with 3 main parts located above the mid-section, which would open with a very bright (blinding) light and with very strong force (which required you to stand at a safe distance).
This is concept art for a multiplayer environment (most likely for Spartan Ops).

At the end of Halo legends origins there is a pic similar to that houses a forerunner so is it possible the Sphere Cryptum belongs to another race maybe even the ancient evil. And this one belongs to the forerunners. Just a theory.
