What is this Neil?

I’m sorry, but I think this may be the worst sample ever (I changed it just for y’all. It sounds way too unoriginal and sounds like the character menu of some fighting game.

As a youtuber put it: "The end of this sample really made up for my skepticism of the beginning. " It began to sound way better at the 31 second mark. Other than that, the beginning in just so redundant. Sorry for not praising all of Neil’s work. This one in particular sounded absolutely nothing like halo starting off. I thought I was playing tekken or mortal combat.

That’s just a sample of the track. :expressionless:

Sounds better than Reach haha

Haters gonna Hate, Potaters gonna Potate

Don’t worry, once you hear it ingame you’ll learn to love it.

Sounds a bit like a mix of Alien and Metalwork. Which kinda works for the new enemies.

You have to experience the part of the level in the campaign that the music is implemented to fully judge it.

> You have to experience the part of the level in the campaign that the music is implemented to fully judge it.

I know, but people judge his music and love it, so why can’t I do the same? Just this particular ost is a bit too far off for me. Maybe it could work in game, but as of now, it just isn’t my type.

Still better than Marty Reach soundtrack.

So sorry you got something other than Marty’s typical Lord Of The Rings knock off score. This is different, and miles better than the past five games. for once I will actually enjoy Halo music, instead of just playing something over it.

You’re getting mad over a sample?
It gives me a huge Marathon music feel(not sure why) for me. Which is a good thing.

Anyway the music does it job. I feel like I have numorus enemy’s closing in on me. While I try to run to safety.

Well actually that wasn’t the point. I like different, but this just isn’t that great. I never said that I didn’t like any of Neil’s samples…

> Still better than Marty Reach soundtrack.

I can agree, but some of Neil’s scores are not even better than the Reach OST “Engaged.”

Speaking of Engaged, that is one of the most different halo OSTs out there.

When it comes to Halo, I find it that the music alone is only half of what makes it wonderful. The other half is where they put the music in the game. This may go better than you think, provided 343i puts it in a fitting part of the game.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII like it. Sounds pretty intense and seems to fit the prometheans.

If that’s what I think it is, then it’s one of the multiplayer que songs, not anything important.

You can’t expect greatness in music from something that hardly uses music.

I’m actually enjoying it, and I absolutely hate electronic music.

It has a Metroid Prime feel, and the Metroid Prime series has an INCREDIBLE OST.

He isn’t going the derp step route, so be thankful.

Here’s a sample of the Metroid Prime OST for those who never had the chance to enjoy it.

The game’s campaign, from what I’ve seen also has a Metroid Prime feel of it as well. Appearance-Wise, and Cinematic-Wise.

I wouldn’t be shocked if 343i took a bit of inspiration from the series.

That’s sorta what I thought when I heard the music. In actuality, I thought: “OMGZ SPACE PIRATEZZZZ”

Also, beautiful music choice for those who never experienced Prime.

You can’t say the Prometheans don’t remind you of the space pirates, well at least the knights. I guess they play more along the lines of an Ing Space Pirate, but still similar nonetheless.

I guess the Metroid look and feel is some of what is making me so excited over Halo 4, it’s like a combo of my favorite game series.

As for my music choice, it’s my favorite track from the OST.

How can you call his scores a Lord of the Rings knock off when he was writing the scores before LotR came out?
