Definitely a toss-up between the Plasma Pistol and Pulse Carbine.
Plasma Pistol does still have its overcharge and I have died to the combo on occasion. I’ve probably died more times to the overcharge combo than I ever had to the Pulse Carbine.
Pulse Carbine is only effective once you have that sweet spot down, but when you have that sweet spot…oh damn. It can murder. If not murder than do almost the same job as the Plasma Pistol when it comes to weakening shields and following it up with your secondary. Other than BTB, maps like Catalyst where you’re doing Land Grab, when enemies are going to stay in the territory and let you get to that sweet spot easily, you can shred if not enemies then at least their shields. Same with Bazaar where the ledge fighting is actually where the Pulse Carbine can shine such as where I got 10+ Assists thanks to it in one game due to its higher rate of fire and consistency at range making it such a tide-turner.
So, all-in-all, I do think the Plasma Pistol does lose out to the Pulse Carbine.
Ravager definitely isn’t the worst weapon after its buff. Its overcharge does the same thing as the Plasma Pistol’s to destroy shields except in an AoE and even its base fire is much more damaging.
I’ve become a tiny bit more lenient on the Disruptor after playing a bunch of Last Spartan Standing. I’ll take almost any other weapon over it, but taking the Plasma Pistol over it? Eeeeehhhh…

They nerfed what it was good at instead of addressing its spawn rate & placement.

Could do with 5 more rounds in magazine & more starting ammo, also it has 2x scope & its setting is adjusted by 2.5x slider meaning you cant accurately adjust its ADS sens unless you want to ruin your BR sens.

Maybe a me problem & I play on mouse but it feels like my sensitivity becomes broken with it?
Pulse carbine.
I like it in BTB & is border line OP when shots land, good for combo & assists.
However on smaller maps or CQ its bad.
I like Carbine to be honest. I’m using it the same as a Mangler, one hit then switch to AR or BR or anything you have for finish. Carbine is kinda good for long range assists too.
I can’t say the same about Plasma Pistol. I mean I’m definitely better with Carbine than Pistol.
If 343 didn’t want to bring back EMP ability for Plasma Pistol, so why not make it like if you hit the vehicle with charged shot, driver will loose his shields for example.
there is something weird with how the charged plasma shot locks on. im pretty sure i can lock on while aiming ahead and then the sshot will bend behind the player and miss. 343 need to disable lock on when aiming ahead.
Anything plasma. I have a personal feeling so far, that only the UNSC weapons are good. All “alien” weapons are kinda weirdly and poorly made by 343i, compared to the former versions of them.
The rest of the weapons I can easily do a decent job with, even if situational. Well, except the mangler, which is completely replaced by the Assault Rifle. Talk about neutering a weapon with one change of any purpose lol.
Ravenger is only good if you can keep a group of enemies or a vehicle in a location long enough for the large dot to cripple them with the charged shot.
It has splash too so if you are in CQC, you can easily land the splash burst and follow up with a melee to the face for a quick kill. It’s 1 tap 1 melee even after the global melee nerf because Ravager shot itself got buffed at the same time.

The tracking is insanely weak and I’ve never been able to get a kill with it to a point where I avoid it and would actually use melee if I ran out of ammo rather than use it.
It’s too weak in every scenario and the only gun it can beat I believe is the plasma pistol but even the plasma pistol is better because at least charged it can delete shields for a one shot.
I’d say Pulse Carbine. It’s far too dependent on projectile tracking within a narrow range band to be effective. Sure sometimes it slaps within it’s range but get too close or too far and it loses almost all practical effectiveness.
Runner-up to the Plasma Pistol which literally only exists for the noob combo now (since it lost its emp and now lost the ability to fully strip an overshield.
The damage to shields is bad in terms of “plasma”. Then you have the damage to health. Even the charged bolt is too slow and people dodge it instantly.
