It goes without saying that Spartans are a very potent military force, and the most versatile down to the individual level. They are also undeniably different, being genetically altered, and for all intents and purposes, superhuman. However, as seen with master chief, Spartans and humans do not always get along well, and many Spartan IIs and IIIs had difficulty interacting with those that are not a part of their “Spartan Brotherhood” or involved in their training.
But are the Spartans able to handle this logistical responsibility? Obviously there is more to a military branch than just fighting wars. They would have to either do this leftover logistical work themselves, or use regular humans/Spartans-in-training to do what the fighting Spartans are too busy to do.
Militarily, the Spartans would have no troubles accepting leaders from their own Ranks, and no doubt they would be combat experienced veterans or those who “failed” the augmentation procedures physically. But this raises another issue: Human-Spartan Relations.
The Spartans might now become an aloof, proud group who might not always agree to what the other military branches want to do. Another secret Spartan program{again} coordinated as a counter to the Spartans power is not an impossibility. A very outrageous misunderstanding between Spartans and the other branches over could even lead to civil war and that could culminate in an attempt to overthrow military leadership, even so far as threatening the stability of the human race. Thus is the power and influence of Spartans let loose.
That they are capable of this, I have no doubt. But would they?
What do you think?
