It’s the nostalgic feel long time players get when using it. It’s also very powerful but it’s iconic to Halo and its players, the same way the H2 BR is.
Yeah man, that quick 3 shot kill isn’t good at all, the CE magnum should just be thrown in the trash.

That would be the Light rifle when scoped. 3sk that beast is!
The BRs are all 4sk. The bootyful Ce magnum is a 3shot beast.

Magnums are 5-shot, DMRs are 5-shot, BRs are 4-shot. The Light Rifle is a 3-shot while scoped but its rate of fire is a lot slower than the CE Magnum.

Dying Star lightrifle - 3 shot kill, all body shots, unscoped, on a fully shielded Spartan. Damn, I love that thing, truly a “power” weapon.

Dying Star is a one-shot with two Damage Boosts. Of course, you’ll probably only pull that kind of -Yoink- off in Turbo, but still.

Or you just have to be patient, like damage boosting “The Answer” 
(I’m not quite finished with the video yet, but applies well. If you really wanna double damage boost Dying Star solo, you could just wait around in the home base till your get level 9 again then get a damage boost II, then I and go ham…I’ll just use my answer though :P)
As back to main post, CE Magnum is also the only full auto pistol and that 3 round burst is probably one of the fastest time to kill of the “light arms” and it just sound awesome too.
