I don’t understand what the point of this ability is supposed to be ? All it seems is like they made some jumps higher and further than they needed to be JUST to add this ability. The controls already feel completely and utterly cluttered and garbage. Can someone explain what the point of it is, or what it adds to gameplay ?
To CLIMB.
“Immersion”
It doesn’t actually add anything to gameplay, all it does is essentially replace jumping onto objects with climbing up them.
To create the illusion that you are more mobile, but in the end they just upscale everything. In all honesty, it is just another useless Spartan ability.
Make people feel “Pro” by not requiring them to be able to nail a perfectly timed crouch jump. Oh, and make you a moving target while doing it with needless animation.
If its an immersion thing then that is a dumb reason to add anything to a multiplayer game, cause honestly it does feel like

at the end of the day.

It’s still possible to design trick jumps around clamber. The problem here is not that it’s replaced trick jumps, but that it’s basically replaced normal jumping.
Though I still honestly prefer crouch jumps.

Clamber just makes trick jumps easier.
I’m not too big of a fan of clamber but at least they made it fluid.
Maps have more nooks and crannies where players can jump to and have an advantage point. Like Truth and its elevation, DRM spots.

And most of those clamber spots happen to be useless and will get you killed if anything (e.g. the higher windows near the spawns on empire).
Just fix the lack of hability. Hahaha
There isn’t one, there is nothing so special about clamber that could not be accomplished by scaling the map for crouch jumps instead.
It just another entry in the ill conceived attempts to increase “immersion” by taking away control from the player. Rather than leaving it up to the player to make a jump, we are left at the mercy of the game to decide whether it recognizes you wanted to climb this particular ledge.
Regardless of how short the animation is it still adds up to more time being spent out of combat and not actually playing the game. Apparently the level of “immersion” is directly related to how much control a player has
So you don’t have to crouch in mid air to achieve a “skill” jump. I love clamber, and its horrible seeing people in games care more about getting up a ledge rather then actually playing.

Because those positions in the previous games were power positions that can help you dominate the game. Take the top of sanctuary for example.

And you can still get to hose positions, just not in a stupid way

So, taking you’re time to get skilled at something is stupid? And having a crutch to do it for you instead is better?

No, now anyone can get in those positions, even if they never practiced it.

Exactly, I would rather crouch jump or be able to still shoot than have this fancy " mechanic" leave me vulnerable while I’m waiting for the animation to finish up.
