What is the oldest post on halo waypoint .

What was the oldest or first post on halo waypoint. Tried googling it and couldn’t find anything about it.

I don’t know as the information provided in the URL is quite limited. In addition to that, the first official forum post may not necessarily be public or may even have been deleted.

i would like to know as well a forum throwback however i suspect that this post will get locked and say do not revive old topics before we get a chance to know woukl be interesting to find out

Not really an easy way to figure out what the first post is currently.

There seems to be two actually, and I couldn’t tell you which came first because they’re in separate forums and I’m not sure if you can find the exact time when a web page was published but I don’t know how to, if it is possible

Halo Waypoint came out on September 26th, 2009. It doesn’t seem like forums existed right away as these 2 posts have come out on August 5th, 2010

Both of these where posted on the same day.

Kuon Teshi got fairly close. Generally, it seems like the forums became accessible to regular users on August 5th, 2010. At least I find n posts by regular users from before that. There is however a thread Campaign “Did You Know” Factoids created on August 4th by user JacobGSM. This is actually however a former 343i employee who went by the name Cocopjojo as can be seen in an archived version of the thread here. it seems like they might have made this just before the forums went live, which would make it the oldest viewable thread on Waypoint.

Beyond that, there is an old Announcements thread that has probably been deleted, posted on July 31st, which can be seen here. It would make sense that this would be the first thread on the forums.

This is actually really cool to hear, because Google won’t pull up any posts before August 5th and it seems now we know why

As FascistEagle created the topic out of interest, I’d imagine him.

Well H3LL RA1SER 666 stated he would like to know as well a few comments down from the opening post. And I would imagine there are those who’re just browsing would be interested too.

Yeah but I wouldn’t say he ‘cares’

I’d like to see how this site even looked back when it started a Waypoint throwback

Click on the link the moderator provided.

The first one!

to be fair it wasn’t that long ago.

I remember when waypoint didn’t exist and we were on the Bungie forums!

I can see that my posts go back to Aug 2011 but then It won’t go beyond 50 pages of posts.

You seem to be posting in this thread a lot for someone who doesn’t care. Move on if it doesn’t interest you.

Google “Wayback machine” and put in halowaypoint.com. Tsassi added it a link to it for the first post.

Snickerdoodle please see this post we have to see the first post ever

Using halo.xbox.com works better for the earlier iterations, because that’s the URL Halo Waypoint was on until late 2012. Using halowaypoint.com will get redirected to halo.xbox.com, but you get more results with the latter.

But yeah, the Internet Archive Wayback Machine is my go-to source for obscure internet history. It’s awesome.

Ah, late 2012 is right when I joined, guess it was right after the switch haha. Good old days of different sized and multi colored text options.
