Just curious. I spawn into a BTB game and I have a challenge to get 10 needler kills. If I go off and focus on getting my needler kills and ignore the objective, what is my loss?
I’m not asking if this makes me a bad team mate, clearly it does. I’m just asking is there any incentive to play the objective? Any extra points, badges, stats or rewards for winning games?
Another symptom of the battle pass. There really isn’t any motivation right now except to focus on challenges:/ BTB is not worth it at all right now. Every single game I played yesterday had people camping weapon and vehicle spawns. Just a mess. Who wants to get the flag for 50 xp??? . How about making winning a priority… that should be the point.
Also for not core players like my wife who doesn’t play shooters much. when she accomplished badges in a match she doesn’t get real validation since you only get XP for doing challenges. if not then here’s 50xp for just playing at this rate she’d have to devote her life to halo just to get at least one cosmetic or even to fill that feeling of leveling. Unlike other shooters where you get xp for a bunch a things you do in games even if it’s not a ton compared to challenges.
Me and my friend try to aim for at least one Steaktacular every time we have a gaming session, that’s our motivation. We don’t particularly care that we only get 50xp, win or lose. Just the satisfaction of getting one at the end of the match is more than enough.
The game is sorely in need of performance-based XP rewards. Daily and per-match milestone achievements each match that allow you to earn 500xp for those rare, amazing games where your team performs like the Spartans of yore, while being achievable every match if you’re really good at the game.
But no, they don’t care if you get good at the game apparently. May as well go back to work and stop playing videogames.
