Highest active duty is liutenant commander I believe,I guess as high as they are promoted if they accept the promotion
If they aren’t part of the UNSC’s Spartan Branch, they can hypothetically climb their way up to Admiral (O-10) or equivalent, as long as they’ve earned a commission.
Theoretically there is no limit, but I believe Kurt-051 has the highest at Lt. Commander.
What rank is Master chief? or is his name his rank.
Chief was offered a general rank. So no limit.

No idea
According to Halopedia, Master Chief Petty Officer(Navy Corps) is equal to Sergeant Major in the other Corps.
Well Spartans in the Spartan branch have the SR system with at least a confirmed SR 50. With several Specialisations over that.
They also have people called Spartan Commanders who run Spartan operations in certain locations or ships.
Spartans outside that branch could become Admirals if they were in the Navy.
Thats from memory.
Well im not certain but in halo 5 when you hit SR 50 it will say Officer Pack…and Master Chiefs ranks is Master Chief Petty Officer…but im not sure if the highest rank by Spartans

It’s the highest NCO rank in the UNSC Navy.
Carter was Commander, so maybe Captain/Colonel is the top since generals don’t do active duty
It depends on whether or not they choose or are given to opportunity to be a commissioned officer. The highest rank for a non commissioned officer (NCO) would be Master Chief petty officer. A commissioned officer (CO) would be able to achieve the rank of general.
Yup I confirm the highest rank for a NCO is Master Chief petty officer.

There are two rank paths in the military, enlisted and commissioned officer. Enlisted men cannot reach the ranks of officers, without a specific exceptional promotion to the officer branch, which comes at the discretion of command.
Master Chief is the highest rank available to enlisted marines, but is still outranked by second lieutenant, the lowest rank available to officers. e.g. as Fred-104 was made a lieutenant, he actually outranks the Chief.
In short, Master Chief is as high as it gets for Spartan-IIs are they were enlisted. Spartan-IVs, as they have come from serving military adults, may have come in as officers. There’s no limit to the rank just because they’re Spartans.
