So I’m basically writing this as a humble brag. I got the game when it first came out, and I was absolute garbage at FPS games. I ended up putting it down for a while… A long while… as in, 2 weeks ago was the first I’ve touched it since 1 month after it came out. Well I came on here to see what my stats were, and I had 300+ more deaths than kill in multiplayer. So after working myself to death, I’ve finally managed to overcome it.
Granted a lot of those kills were made up in Grifball (I don’t spawn camp, I had bad experiences with people spawn camping me when I was new, so I refuse to do it, I am however close to the spawn and kill them once they start going towards me, I figure that’s fair enough), but I made it up
300 agonizing,
excruciating,
painful kills over deaths later. I’m finally in the positive. I know most people agree that KDR doesn’t matter, but I’m proud of it.
The hardest thing I’ve ever successfully done was get through the first hangar in Cairo Station solo on LASO. It was impossible in comparison to both H3 and 4 on LASO combined, but I finally did it. Next up on impossible things to do: beat Regret on LASO…
I remember in 2011 after many days of retries, I finally got to a point in the Long Night of Solace SLASO run where completition was just a matter of waiting for the final cutscene to trigger. It’s only a shame that at that moment the universe decided to conspire against me, and Halo Reach crashed. That was crushing enough that it ultimately ended my attempt at a SLASO completition of Reach.
But if difficulty is measured in terms of effort to success, that was probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in Halo.
Vidmaster: Endure’s been a particular bugbear because finding 3 other people with enough skills with whom I can maintain a stable connection for long-enough, but finally managed it.
Halo 3 ODST on MCC on LASO with others was also plenty of tough work - mostly just the end of Kizingo Blvd, end of NMPD, and Coastal Highway. But we did it
Beating round 1 in the September Microsoft Store Tourney. What basically happened was that me and the dude I was with (it was Doubles) were the last group in the bracket against the other two guys. I had gone there as a solo player and the guy I was with looked like, maybe 13, 14 years old? So I basically said in my mind “I’m gonna have to carry this”. Carry I did, and for whatever reason we won that round. This did not help in the second round where we got our -Yoinks!- kicked and lost.
I would’ve said beating H2 Legendary, but at this point that’s the most generic answer I can think of, so ima just go with this.
Similar story to Wraith, but with me it was the 4v4 tourny. Because everyone who showed up there showed up with a team of four…except for me, and one other guy. So we bounced between teams like a pinball, until we literally got to the point where I was on BOTH WINNING TEAMS and would have had to play myself, if it weren’t for another guy stepping in. And he was GOOD.
15 minutes later and a 100-99 win with me clutching like a BOSS…we promptly faced the leaders and lost.
But hey, its better than the other tournies I went too.
(I havent even tried LASO so)
I guess it would be making it to rank 35 in Halo three. Hardest part was getting matched up against better people that just couldn’t reach 50 but knew how to dominate me.
I’m not going to lie this is going to sound ridiculous but the hardest thing I tried to do is kill some one with a cone in halo 3 matchmaking aparently if you killed someone with a cone you get recon armor which was very popular back then
