What is the hardest challenge for the best armor?

What is or would be the most hardest challenge to do in order to receive the best kind of reward; of customization?

Would it be ranking up to the highest level? Completing LASO challenge? Unfrigginbelievable spree with 0 deaths the whole game? Or a new one you can come up with?

Maybe another vidmaster type of way, like when Bungie did it for recon armor,

Like it was really hard to do all the vidmaster achievements so getting Recon was rewarding as hell and it was a bad -Yoink- armor set.

Complete slaso difficulty in under 1 hour, while only using the halo 2 pistol, and without getting in a vehicle to unlock the seeker armor set, emblem, and weapon skin.

I say doing a co-op LASO would be great. It could bring back memories of doing the Ghost run in H3 for the Vidmaster Anniversary achievement.

It’s easy to come up with challenges that are arbitrarily time consuming or arbitrarily difficult. But I think that misses the point. The reward is just a trophy, a proof that you have completed the challenge, but the challenge itself is not about the reward. The challenge should be meaningful and engaging regardless of whether there is a reward or not. The reward should just act as a way to lure people in to do something they might not otherwise have tried. That’s why Vidmasters worked so well. They were not absurdly difficult, or even all that time consuming. But they were different, they were challenging enough to feel meaningful, and they were social. In retrospect, it’s not the fact that I got Recon I remember fondly, or the fact that I completed the challenges, but the fun and the shared frustration I had with my friends trying to work our way to the end. The most valuable part was not the reward or the challenge, but the shared experience of doing something different.

To make for a memorable, interesting, and engaging challenge, you should really take a page from the Vidmaster’s book: have a collection of challenges that are different, unique, and occassionally social. Examples might be: complete level with certain set of skulls, complete a level only using a certain set of weapons, get a spree with a certain weapon in matchmaking. You can get pretty creative with the social challenges, e.g.: survive an entire match with a fully occupied Warthog with each player getting at least 5 kills. The point here is to make the players try new things and have fun with friends. Each individual challenge doesn’t need to be awfully difficult, but having for example 10 well chosen challenges gives a meaningful sense of accomplishment.

I think people are forgetting that you had to complete Halo 2, in order to get Helioskrill.
