Okay, let me start off by saying that I just got out of a Week long ban from these forums and let me start by saying “thanks for proving my point about the 343 secret police”. Jesus, it was like 2:30 in the morning and I got a knock on the door and it was 2 guys in black suits with 343’s logo stitched into their shoulder and breast pockets. I was scared out of my mind when you two threw me into a van and drove me to 343’s office in Washington where I was forced to sleep in a dog kennel for 7 days awaiting the end of the ban. Whew. Good thing I brought my copy of Mortal Dictata.
Wow, okay. Sorry for that, but I felt the need to explain to my parents and friends why I haven’t been seen since Tuesday Night.
Okay…BACK ON TOPIC.
What is the Fun Factor in Halo’s Multiplayer and how do we find it? This isn’t some Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark stuff, but how can we find that “special spot” in Halo’s Multiplayer so we can get Halo back on track with other games that are now light years ahead of us in player count. Seriously though,
CoDs 4-Ghosts have more of a player count than Halo 4. Why is that? Surely its not because Halo 4 isn’t fun? Right? Last time I checked, everyone loved Halo 4, WAIT, my memory may be betraying me after being forced into watching a video that repeats the line “HALO 4 IS HALO. EVERYONE LOVES HALO 4. PRAISE 343, PRAISE 343. HALO 4 IS GREAT. IT IS DAMN NEAR PERFECT IN EVERY WAY IMAGINABLE” so I might be a little delusional.
Aside from a competitive Ranking System (which in my opinion is the bread and butter of Halo’s MP, what else is lacking, aside from the VERY VERY obvious shift from a Arena to an Arcade shooter with Halo 4.
Is it the maps? Is it the weapons? Should we start from scratch and have 343 throw away every beloved gun in Halo and usher in new and unique weapons? Would that kick start Halo’s dying heart?
What about gametypes? Is there a brand spanking new gametype that is so out-of-this-world awesome that everyone should try it at least once? Like a Super Invasion with like 6 objectives on a huge map? Infection mode aka Zombies aka DayZ style gametype that is more open world than Firefight and has the Flood as the primary enemies?
What is the essential beating heart of Halo’s multiplayer?
When a game is made with love and care it will be fun, even the call of duties are made with love and care(apart from ghost). When you look at something like Medal of Honor: warfighter you can tell this was just designed to beat cod first, then be fun second.
Halo 4 didn’t show the best results because 343I had to build a team, get everything sorted and produce a halo in two years but now they have a small army of 400 people that are more than eager to make the funnest and best experience possible

That’s not to say that Respawn Entertainment started out as a itty-bitty studio (whose headed by the two ex head honchos of Infinity Ward, and TitanFall (Their first game ever as a studio) is already shaping up to be one of the best games on the Xbox One.
They also started from scratch. 343 on the other hand changed Halo for the sake of change, they had an award winning formula and it was their fault that they spent two years creating a big wasted beta. They could have just stuck with what made Halo’s MP number 1 on the Xbox and number 2 on the 360 Post COD 4. But instead they spent their entire development looking at what makes CoD number 1 and tried “and failed” to bring that to Halo. therefore completely underlining the fundamentals of Halo and essentially ripping a void (AGAIN) in Halo’s Fan base.
Like a certain 343 employee said over Twitter at the launch of BF4, “Don’t fix what ain’t broken”
And if HALO 5 is the same way, then what? You said it yourself, they are an “army of 400 people” there is no excuse for another 2 year beta.
Bashing Halo 4 isn’t against the rules–posters on these forums do it all the time without being penalized. Being obnoxious and insulting is against the rules and will get you penalized.

Well titanfall is a new IP that is only focused on multiplayer so it isn’t as much of a task compared to halo on xbox one.
While 343i did try to change for the sake of change doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, the changes in halo 4 weren’t the best but they can still change things for the better.
I’m glad 343i are willing to take risks, I would rather have a company make their own take on halo than trying to imitate another. They won’t do the same as halo 4, even they know doing that would be stupid but that doesn’t mean they should or won’t do the same as halo 3.

> What. Who said this? Because this is new to me.
The movie 343 forced me to watch 23 hours a day for a week since I disrupted the order of things in the forums.
But of course, being the place these forums are, I will undoubtedly get in trouble because it’s all “Praise Halo 4 and 343 or -Yoink-”. Just look at what happened to
[REDACTED]. They sent him to Belize.
I just figured since I presume anyone and everyone who dislikes what Halo has become gets the short end of the stick, I’d spice things up a bit.
But hey! I don’t make games nor is my opinion valued over an -Yoink–kisser’s any day anways. I figured I’d enjoy myself before i’m perma-sent to Belize.
But thanks for the heads up. Better get back on topic. Like NOW.
Not sure was it 343I or someone else who captured you, but ive been banned couple of times, and nothing has happened.
And, i dislike Halo 4. I have said it multiple times. But no ban for that.
You can voice your opinion here, just keep calm and keep it clean.
Right now, you are not keeping it clean or calm, and this thread will most likely be locked because of it.

That’s where you’re wrong, why waste the man hours on flawed ideas that like the killcam are godawful? Why try to bring in CoD players when you cannot even get your own fans to like you after Reach burned anyone who had High hopes for another awesome game? It was all a waste of time because at the end of the day, their changes did not accomplish a thing, and in face, hurt our community more so than Reach, because the time spent over hauling Classic Gameplay could have been used making the campaign better, bringing in Theater mode in campaign, a better SpOps experience or at the very least give the forging community something new to work with rather than 3 too small and too rugged maps and reskinned blocks from Reach? Even they weren’t as good because of “useless edges and lumps that make precise edging impossible.” While i’m aware that Forge was spearheaded by Certain Affinity but still.
It’s great and all that 343 thinks it’s a good idea to take risks, but come on. There has to be a limit to the amount of stuff that they are willing to change in order to bring in more less-qualifying changes. They must’ve known somewhere down the line that what they were doing was wrong and thus doing so would change the balance of Halo as a competing MP forever. We don’t need more bravado to try new things, we need more bravery to keep what is good and what makes Halo Halo.
There is no 2 different versions of CoD, ONE for Treyarch and ONE for I.W. they are the same thing pretty much, just one dives in deeper than the other in terms of party games and creativity.
Why should 343 try to be something new that they knew wouldn’t hold just for the sake of it? It waste’s peoples money and turns off any potential future purchases because it. long story short: Unnecessary changes= Bad gameplay= angry customer.
Tried-and-true changes= Happy Customer= more potential profit in the future.
You are nice. I like you. And I am most certainly calm. No reason to get worked up. Clean on the other hand is not my cup of tea. And if in the event that this thread gets locked, I will simply make another. That’s how things work.
What it lacked was not fun, it lacked substance. Half of the existing game-types were cut away, competitive gaming was trashed and some of the basic rules of Halo multiplayer were betrayed… But it’s still fun, for me at least.
It can be much more fun, and much better (certainly in comparison with Halo 4 at launch)- and Halo 5 will be. 343i has made a lot- A LOT- of mistakes and they admit that they have. Moving on, they say they know the community’s wants and needs better. I am reassured.
I don’t think we’ll ever get rid of Loadouts, but with some key features removed (perks, grenade choice, Jetpack, Active Cano, plasma pistol and Boltshot), some new additions (SMG, Plasma Rifle??) and some hard tweaking I actually think it can work really well and compliment Halo’s multiplayer (there should still be a Legendary- no Loadouts- playlist, though). I don’t expect all my points to be addressed, but I do hope most of them will. Ordnance needs to be derandomized or removed entirely and there should be more weapons on the map (no random drops, and no personal ordnance!). Other than that, I’m fine.
Either way, Halo 5 will be much better than 4 (and with a much more appropriate creative direction), which will be good enough for me.

I said that halo 4’s changes weren’t the best but they still can come up with original ideas for multiplayer that can be really good.
Just to let you know, OP, the first thing I did after reading your post was reporting you.
If I were you, I’d edit that post and make it abide by the rules before the “343 Police” (who happen to be community members that do what they do from their own dedication and without any reward or pay) do ther jobs.
Also the fact that your poll is extremely biased and clearly insults people who prefer/enjoy Halo 4/Reach’s gameplay resulted in me refusing to vote and I’m sure that many other people encountered the same decision.
One last thing: I prefer a lot of things that Halo 4 added including but not limited to Progressive Ranking and Loadouts.
The fun factor of Halo; is how two teams enter a virtual battlefield and one emerges victorious, fair and square. The fun factor is how you want to win and get addicted to winning and proving you are better. The fun factor is the memories from specific spectacular moments you have in your process of becoming better and winning the match. The fun factor is competition.
