What is the difference between RP boost & jackpot?

I tried to use the search first but all I could find was complaints concerning lost jackpots. Anyways I have several colors and I don’t know how much rp they give you after a round. Would anyone care to share a link or explain?

Did you read the description on them? Either way, jackpots give you a random chance at a higher amount of REQ points while normal RP boosts give you a fixed amount depending on if you won the game or not. But the thing with jackpots, is that you can some times get a lower amount of points, so its risky, or useless in a way.

It’s pretty straight forward. One is set, one isn’t.

The RP boost simply boosts what you would have gotten after a match based on your kills, medals, or if you win/lose. The RP jackpot is exactly as it sounds. You either get a small one or a big one after the game. It’s random.

Sometimes you can get very big jackpots.

What I gathered from reading your replies is there is no definite amount to expect from using either boost or jackpot. That would mean it is almost a complete waste to use boost and join a game of warzone firefight when it places you in a match that is on round 4 or 5?

Yes that would be wasting a boost because its dependent on your performance.

It’s not dependent on your performance. Each rarity of an to boost has a set amount of points tied to it. Like legendary-5000 ultra rare-3000 rare-1500 and common-1000. A jackpot ranges from around 1000 to a lil over 6000.(Warzone boost btw.) Arena rp boost are practically useless tho since the legendary only is worth 750

Ok thank you, this was the answer I was looking for. So to the person who asked if I read the description on the req cards. Yes I read how they work, but the description does not give you this information

Jackpots give you a random amount. I htink I got like 13,000 for a warzone xp one and I tend to stay right around the 8,000-10,000 range for the jackpots.

The other day I used a Jackpot boost in a WWFF match, finished 4th but still got a total of 14,897 exp. points earned. Most of it was from the boost.

Exactly this. Idk where people get the idea that they are dependent on your performance.

For the Assists, Spartan Kills, etc., yeah but those aren’t RP

The only amounts that I know is the RP/XP Mission Victory gives the same amount as RP/XP legendary boosts.

No the MV for Wz gives 3500 and the legendary gives 5k. And the MV for arena gives 500 and legendary gives 750

I’ve gotten 750 for Arena every time with the MV as well as the 2180 for an XP boost. I’d have to double check again for WZ since it’s been a little bit since I’ve had a legendary boost for it.

Edit: I checked Arena last night and my RP Mission Victory gave me 750 and my legendary RP boost gave me 750. So there you go.

Req boosts give you a set amount, Jackpots give you a random amount, and that amount can be higher then a simple boost.

I’ve had Halo 5 for a while and I just started really playing it. I noticed that for boosts everything works as long as you do not pick one with the word boost in the name. Example: Arena XP Jackpot will work. Warzone XP Boost WILL NOT work. Mission: Victory Will work. Warzone XP Jackpot will work. Warzone RP Jackpot will work. Warzone RP Boost WILL NOT work. It’s very simple, if it has the word boost in the name it won’t work. 343 has to do something about this. If we buy Gold packs (I bought more than a few) we’d be wasting our money on something we cannot use. I have bank statements that prove I bought them from Microsoft. Microsoft owns Xbox so if they’re in the business of making money then if they want more of mine they better fix the boost system so I can buy their stuff in peace and not have to worry about if any of the boosters are going to work. I’ve been doing some research too and I’m not the only one who has complained about the boost system. Here’s the other Halo Waypoint Link. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/e0d9938206f04a598ce84f2c8cadce02/topics/rp-boost-not-working/3fd95a31-0fb4-487a-ac5c-48944b380148/posts

When Halo 6 comes out. I hope it’s not a rush job. I hope they take their time and fix the bugs before the release. I also hope they don’t just simply stop with Halo 6. The Halo universe is too big and has too many stories and questions for us. For instance, what if the flood came from another galaxy? If someone wanted to colonize this galaxy for themselves throwing the flood into the Milky Way galaxy to clear it out would be a smart thing to do, wouldn’t it? You never know.
