This is really all i am worried about. Other than them making another halo reach. No matter how good a game is “rank” is what keeps the players playing.
Just wondering what do you think the chance is of us getting getting this rank back.
Here is what i meant to say.
I do not see why everyone who is NOT in favor of the 1-50 rank complaining.
First of all, this issue should not matter to you. No matter what you will get your social play lists. For us COMPETITIVE gamers, social play lists are NOT fun. That is why we are complaining about the rank system.
Yes we all play for fun and want to win. But for us it is a different. You play to win and have fun. We play to do that but we also play to be competitive. Which means if we lose a game where rank does NOT matter. There is no point of us playing. When you play you see your reward as having fun and just killing people. We see beyond that.
Look at it like a sport. If your in the NFL or a basketball team. You play for fun don’t you? But you also get competitive as HELL. No coach or a team wants a player who just plays for fun and doesn’t care if they win or lose. No matter what i think you guys will never understand what it feels like to be a competitive player and play for a rank that means nothing.
And i don’t mind having play-lists that are NOT ranked. I enjoyed the non ranked play lists in halo 2 also. I used them as a warm-up game before i stepped into the matchmaking play lists. No one EVER said, we cant have BOTH. What we are saying is be EQUAL to the community of players are give us BOTH. There are competitive players out there. Not just people who play for fun. People who do not play for rank or are not competitive stop being SELFISH. Let us have some game types with rank that we enjoy too.

Experience based system dont encourage players to play to win and work as a team

Winning and not gaining anything from it makes the game dull

Is that why I always pair up with people who are never near my skill in any playlist outside of MLG and Arena?

Not to me. I don’t need some little number telling me I’m having fun.

Gears of War and Call of Duty beg to differ. Halo Reach’s version doesn’t, I’ll give you that, but that doesn’t mean such a system never can.
Besides, a system based entirely on wins and loses is horribly limited and does not give an accurate rating of a person’s skill.

Haha no one works as a team in call of duty
A system based on wins and losses is good for encouraging players to win and not play selfishly

Gears of War then.
It may encourage people to win, but it also encourages people to quit when a game goes south.
> A system based on wins and losses is good for encouraging players to win and not play selfishly
Sounds like a personal problem. I don’t need a 1-50 system to cover my friends with an objective, nor do I need it to pick them up if they are in trouble.

Well, that’s great, except for people who lag out, or have real world interruptions.
