What is the canon way to play H3?

After finishing Hunters In The Dark it’s given me a new perspective on the Halo 3 campaign, but I was wondering to what capicity were Uzse and N’tho accompanying Chief and Arby?
Were they alongside the Arbiter at the beginning when the got to Chief, or did they only join Chief and Arby after traveling through the portal?
Did they go to High Charity and the replacement Halo? Or by that time had they just traveled back to one of their ships while Chief and Arbiter finished the fight?

So does anyone know the canon way to play each Halo 3 mission? I’d be interested to find out.

Single player but pretend Uzse and N’tho are there during the Battle of the Citadel.

This. Single player, but during the citadel level, when you see the Arbiter, Imagine Uzse and N’tho are with him
