You’ll know when you have unlocked everything from a bronze pack when you get req points back instead of armors, skins and emblems and then you can move onto the silver packs and repeat the process!

That’s a solid way to go about it.
The Bronze packs are lowest cost, and give you the lower tiered items - but they don’t guarantee unlocks.
Depending on your tolerance for chance, you might want to consider just starting with Silver packs - they always yield 2 unlocks.
Either way, do not use gold packs until your silver packs refund you Req Points when opening them.
i’ve learned this process the hard way
Use the bronze silver and gold system- Start at bronze,once you have unlocked everything go to silver and same for going to gold req packs.
Also save up req points-I played infection and war zone for 2 months and got around 500,000 req point. ( without spending any.)
Do not open packs that are awarded daily (e.g. daily login,arena & warzone win packs) and if you do, sell everything apart from xp and req point boosts and strong, highly used reqs.If you stock pile enough you could get a permanent unlock in a daily win pack(I got armour).Some people call it hoarding, but it’s better than playing 3 matches and getting something crap for playing around 45 minutes.
Lastly, don’t buy the limited edition req packs like the ones that cost 100,000 req points or 120,000 req points-you only get a handful of stuff-you could get around 4 times more permanent unlocks if you just bought silver packs.
Ignore bronze as you are not guaranteed a permanent drop from them and you’ll often end up spending more than you would for a silver just trying to get a single perma drop. Buy silvers till they give a dual refund of 1500 RP which means they can no longer give you a permanent drop. Not to mention the only drop that silvers can’t give you outside of ultras, legendary, and mythic rarity is a common mongoose cert. Afterwards exclusively open gold packs, and ignore 150000 RP packs like platinum packs and greatest hits.
If you can still do this save numerous gold packs you get from firefight till you cap out on your silvers. You will significantly speed up the unlocking process as opening them early is essentially opening a very expensive silver pack.
Secret armor
This is based on what you wish to unlock. Most of the items can be unlocked from the standard req packs and if you wish to unlock any of these items, then the best strategy is to be as effective as possible in terms of req point spending by unlocking all of the Common to Rare items from Silver Packs before attempting to unlock the Ultra Rare and Legendary items from Gold Packs. The only exception to this rule when it comes to items that can be obtained from the standard req packs are the Tundra Mongoose and Woodland Mongoose Certification which can only be unlocked from Bronze Packs.
In addition to that, there do also exist a large number of items which are locked behind commendations or any other specific unlock requirement. If you wish to unlock any of these items, then I would recommend to do some research and to focus on completing the specific unlock requirements for these items.
