I’ll try to just be positive as per your request.
I love the movement in this game.
Yes, even sprint. Ok maybe not LOVE. But I’m cool with it. The only movement I can’t stand is the spartan charge but we all know that.
I love all of the jumps that you can do when you start combining these new abilities they added.
Stabilize jumps. Stabilize crouch jumps. Bum jumping… which I’m still practicing. Very happy they were careful to craft the maps in such a way to still allow a lot of spots in which you can do classic crouch jumps as well
I’m also just a fan of the core abilities in general.
I think they’ve added to the depth of the game and widened the skill gap some more. Granted, somewhat at the expense of positional play. But hey, everyone has the same abilities. That’s all that matters to me. Once again, I must omit spartan charge. I wouldn’t praise that feature if I had a gun to my head.
The gun balancing is great.
The fact that they made the precision weapons a bit more difficult to use and made the autos actually usable for a change… I like it. It’s obviously still more advantageous to use a precision weapon in most cases but you no longer feel absolutely doomed if weren’t the one to snag the BR. Oh how I used to rage like a mad man in H3 when my teammate got to the BR spawn a hair before I did… It’s just refreshing to see people using more of the weapon sandbox. A welcomed change says I.
Railgun/Plasma Caster
Definitely do like these weapons. The railgun is obviously very powerful but only in the right hands. Kind of bridges the gap between the sniper and the rocket launcher. Which is cool. Plasma caster feels like it could have been in any of the old halos. Has a bungie feel to it for sure and I love that. Also glad they buffed it.
Controls
Definitely appreciate the extra aim tuning options they added. Even though it was in response to massive outcry after they basically ruined the aiming lol I find them a bit too subtle but it’s cool that we have them. Definitely helped me dial in my aiming a little more to my preference. Plus the other options like disabling assassinations, auto or manual stabilizing, maintain or manual sprint. Things like that are a nice touch and they really help you get as comfortable as possible with the game.
Jumping to 60fps
People complain about it ruining split screen and I’m with them on that but man, it’s just so much better. I put together a gaming PC years back around the Reach era and it was really hard playing games at 60+ fps on my computer and then hoping on Halo. Barely kissing 30 if nothing was happening. I didn’t care back in the day because I never knew any better but at this point, I just can’t go back. I’m glad they did it. I’m sure split screen will be back for H6 anyways. I’d be shocked if it didn’t happen. Especially with the scorpio coming out and what not…
Honestly it’s hard thinking up things that were all 343 because so much of what they done has been iterative. But yeah. That what I got off the top of my head.
