Whats the best monitor for gaming? I have the asus vh236h and was looking at the Asus VG248QE or some of the BenQ monitors
343 Guilty Spark is my favorite gaming Monitor. Lol. Lol? No? Sorry.
I don’t know, my PC has an HDMI port and I use a 22inch Emerson HDTV, which is probably vastly inferior to what’s out there but it’s around $79. So I don’t know, I mainly wanted to make a stupid Halo-related pun of your question. I apologize.
I’d say 343 Guilty Spark is the best monitor
EDIT: -Yoink!- Martini!
I don’t know about monitor, but this article from CNET is a good place to look for the best gaming TV.
I actually got the Sony KDL-55W802A from Fry’s (they price match Amazon) after using the Sharp LC-60LE650 (both on list, Sony 3 times lower lag).
The difference is so noticeable that on the Sharp, I literally couldn’t play Spelunky (Steam version via HDMI) and the Sony is more or less as efficient feeling as a monitor.
I know it’s a tiny off topic (TV to monitor)… but I can’t recommend the KDL-55W802A enough. I believe (please correct me with link if I’m wrong) it’s still the best low-lag TV officially tested to date. And it’s picture quality is great too (not as good as latest and greatest, but looks amazing).
Just putting it out there because when I was looking for a new TV I was looking desperately for a post like this (:
I currently game on a BenQ xl2420z. I have to say it is a great monitor and has extremely low input lag. I used to game on a Samsung syncmaster 226bw and that was great as well. I see the Asus vg248qe highly regarded all the time too and you wouldn’t be making a bad choice with that. It just depends if you want a little more features with one or another and if you plan on using it for PC gaming. If you do end up getting a BenQ xl2420z or 2720z then make sure you get one with V2 firmware installed. I don’t think they sell ones with V1 firmware any more, but you should know just in case.

I always trust CNET
BenQ is the best IMO. It’s MLG grade and I trust what they use.

Pssh, Mendicant Bias is obviously the best.
