What is so difficult about:
- implementing popular playlists as permanent ones?
- giving us infection, Koth, oddball and other essential game types that have been in every Halo since?
- just listen to the community
What is it 343? WHAT?

You have your answer there.

The community is impatient.

It has been a quarter of a year. If being restless over not having content which was considered launch material for the past 8 years makes me impatient, then you bet I’m impatient. You should be, too.

I can’t imagine why…

Do you still play the game? I do, it’s enjoyable, it was worth the money. More content is coming and it will be fun too.

I played one or two matches of warzone a week ago, but now that you mention it, I haven’t played with any consistency in a month. The game just got so stale so fast primarily because it was lacking in gametypes.
Fair enough. The community is split from what I can tell. Either you love it and continue to play or you are burned out on it and wish for more. I recommend playing with friends or get with an active spartan company to improve the social aspect of the game.

Presuming that his problem is the social aspect or lack of group to play with…? He pointed out the issue already. The game is lacking content that is considered launch material. A man goes to the doctor about a dislocated arm and you recommend leg exercises.
I also haven’t touched halo 5 in weeks. The game did weapon balance great, and I love breakout. But other than that I only occasionally dabble with warzone in small doses. I don’t care for 100% competitive arena play against high ranked stacked teams, and the alternatives are sparse and unappealing.
Infection evolved through the community and then the developers - from zombies honor rules in halo 2, to an actual gametype in halo 3, to a wider variety of settings in reach, to a mode with custom infected skins and sounds in halo 4 (with more limited settings), and then is absent in halo 5. Not even acknowledgement from 343 on if it’s going to be brought back.
“more content is coming” ahahaha all this content? all this “free DLC”, Shouldve been in the damn game to begin with. IDK how they spent so long on this game and it still feels like a lazy product.
My biggest complaint currently is not matching people in my Division. There are SIX tiers in my Division the I should be matched with, instead, this stupid game puts me up against Onyx teams when I am a solo Diamond.
Fire whoever designed this system.
The more I think about this, the more I have to wonder.
People have made custom game types all over the place, and forge gives people some power to do all sorts of things. If a couple of people hanging out in their apartment can drum up an entire map and customize settings for it, why CAN’T an entire dev team put out these game types permanently?
CTF and KOTH should be the simplest things on the list to add in, and CTF has been seen, but not is not a permanent game type. Why?
Because people want those gametypes. Keeping them off the list as permanent keeps people on the forums waiting for polls to pop up or just to complain, which drives site traffic up. The anticipation of “eventually” getting a specific thing you want is a powerful motivator for the average person, even when it’s frustratingly vague or distant. A similar concept is seen in the REQ system (or any randomly generated prize output system, like WoW/Destiny/slot machines). Intermittent reinforcement is the strongest and hardest to break of reinforcement schedules in operant conditioning.
I’m a psych student, and I gotta say that the relationship between 343i (or Bungie, or other major companies, I’m sure) and their customers is very bad. Lack of acknowledgement/communication may be a legal safeguard, but it’s seriously damaging to a relationship. Some of my assumptions even lead me to worse conclusions, but I won’t make such accusations on a public forum.
“Why can’t they develop all of the things I want and change the things that I don’t like immediately?”

Generally, I agree, but there are some things that should just be there already. CTF is already done, just unavailable.

Halo 5 was made by a studio who seems to have an equivalent level of experience.
Seriously, why can everyone but 343 see that the best thing for this game right now would be game modes?

CTF the gametype is there, but if you’re talking about a lack of a pure Objective playlist or dedicated CTF playlist, I’m assuming that there’s a list of design and support objectives that are under consideration with the years of prior experience showing objective gametypes have always been poorly supported by player numbers.

No, the community is NOT impatient. Halo 2 had like 3x the content of this game, and we are already 3 months in. The community is not impatient. The community is not vocal enough. We pay for the game, we pay for the REQ packs without any thought towards actual game content. If we keep buying their product then who is telling them to change? The money they are receiving is telling them that they are headed the right direction when they aren’t. No Halo game should ever drop with 5 game modes and exclude popular games that have been around for 10 years. It’s just dumb. Devs are doing this now. Look at Battlefront. The original ones from 10 years ago have literally 10x the content. Every year we get lesser content, and the prices just keep going up, because we are feeding this money-hungry, greedy industry. They have figured out for half the work they can double their profits. How is that an impatient community???
Why don’t you go get a job at a game studio and find how hard it is to do these things??

You copy/paste this lazy generic studio criticism from any and every other video game forum known to man, or what? Because it’s either a naive, or simply dumb, perspective.
I’m going to go ahead and trust the overall vision and specific decision making processes to the folks that get paid to make those decisions, not inconsequential Forum Randy.

We’re talking about the same company which claimed theater mode would be impossible in Halo 4 when a 16 year old kid with a jtaged 360 managed to do it. I wouldn’t be too surprised.
