I have been scrolling through the Waypoint Rank Sheet as of lately and have not seen SEC3OP in it. This brings me to the question, what is this rank? What is the Section 3 Spartan Company? Monitors any help?
The Section 3 Spartan Company is simply a collection of mostly like minded individuals; quite a few of its members hold the SEC3OP title.
SEC3OP was a title awarded to members who contributed to the Halo 4 ARG.

Kind of; they’re having a bit of fun with their ranks. Since it is a special rank that is no longer obtainable, like Master of Unicorns, it is not in the normal forum ranks list, nor do I think it needs to be. It’s an easter egg rank. They way they got it is

So for a bit more information, the Sec3Op rank is a special rank that only a few members have. These ranks are not moderators, but 3 members of the moderation team currently hold that rank. It gives all the benefits of being Spartan rank, without the required post count.
As far as history goes the rank was awarded due to the groups participation in an ARG for Halo 4. We solved various puzzles and games over a span if 2 years in order to decide glyph code sequences - if you ever entered a code in the classified section to unlock armor or XP for Halo 4, we were part of the team that released those codes. The rank was a parting gift and thank you from some of the folk at 343 
As a side note 4 members of Section 3, myself, devoltar, MrToasty and SepheusIX entered into and won the Hunt the Signal competition last year. That was pretty fun. Looking forward to more ARGs in the future!

That seems like a lot of work! I guess even though Halo 5 is my first Halo experience I should still say thanks.

I dont think anyone can use them at the moment btw. The Waypoint app on 360 has been… well broken since last year.
