Throughout the two decades of halo, it has had multiple aspects to them. Such as armor upgrade (shield lock, jetpack, everything else is Reach), auto aim assist, skulls, the maneuvering jets in Halo 5. What is your favorite aspect/story arc you want to see in the newest update to our favorite game?
1-50 ranking system PLEASE! I feel like in Halo 5 I’d put in so much effort getting a top diamond rank on my old account and then I’d stop trying when my rank got reset in the next season.
Too many things to just put one but if I had to it would be blood and gore.
This might be a hot take but I really want Join In Progress to return in Infinite, I remember before Halo 4’s release this feature was loathed and after release it was despised but it really is necessary to combat the rampant quit/afk problem currently in Halo.

What about bots fill the rosters? I’d be so mad if I joined a game that was close to over.
Vehicles have always been so well integrated in to the games. That is something I want to see continue and built upon. The return of vehicles in 4v4 maps is a good sign.

There’s better ways to deal with it. I personally hate jip in most games more than anything.
Honestly a sense of mystery. I like that 343 has fleshed out some stuff but I like my games to have a bit of idk speculation among fans and reading to deep into stuff.

While playing Halo 5 I’ve found that most matches I join in progress are in the first few minutes of a match because of people not liking the map or mode or because the beginning of the match doesn’t go as well as they expected. I rarely get put into a match that is really uneven or close to over. Also I’m sure most people appreciate when a new ally joins their team to make the teams even, people just don’t like joining in progress games themselves. This is a all to say that I think join in progress makes the game better and overall more enjoyable. I’m curious as to what better ways to deal with quitters you are thinking of though.
I hope Halo 4’s point system returns! I like having assists count towards the team score.
I don’t really have anything I want to come back in particular. I would like ADS and sprint to come back.
I agree to the JIP thing because I hate it. BOT fill should help the issue but especially since they added boosts, joining a game late in progress is stupid.
I, like many others, want elites brought back as playable characters. And bring back and build upon the favorite game type invasion.
ODST-style Firefight.

In ranked gametype, punish their skill rating for leaving. In social gametype punish their exp progression and time out which escalates with more quits.
I’d like to see some armour that can only be acquired for playing X number of games without leaving in a row. That would be a good incentive also.
I think it’s important as the start of the game in Halo is the best part of the game. I am completely against join in progress for games where map control is so important. I don’t want to join a game mid way through. Alternatively have jip, but have it so you can toggle it off.

There’s also better ways to improve upon JIP such as not recording stats to the person(s) that join to a losing game, as oppose to having a bot join for what has been in other games, a free & easy kill farm.
Halo 5’s quality Forge. It’s amazing what the community realised with it and such a shame that with less players also forgers took off.
With a fresh start and a huge community due to F2P i really hope creators will shine again and amaze us with new maps and gamemodes and recreations of the classics we miss.

Punishments and incentives will likely do very little to help the problem. MCC recently implemented harsher quit penalties and the amount of quitters hasn’t noticeably changed. The rewards for consecutive matches would be nice but would be enraging if your internet drops or the server crashes when you are close to getting a large reward like armour or something. I think it would be a better idea to increase xp when you finish a match you joined in progress to make people more receptive to jip. I am against the idea of jip being optional because anyone who has it turned on would be put into in progress matches all the time. I am fine being put into in progress matches sometimes as it helps balance out the match but nobody wants to be put into them every match because the beginning of matches are important and fun. If jip is forced matches will stay full, increasing enjoyment for everyone in the match at the cost of the mid joiners missing the beginning of a match every once in a while. It’s literally taking one for the team. I suppose the people opposed to jip are more focused on themselves and their individual performance than the enjoyment of everyone in the match or something.

Don’t care about my stats, don’t want to join a game in progress. Would rather have a bot join so the enemy can murder it and get the game over with quicker. The game is essentially going to be over in a handful of minutes either way, no point in making another person suffer when the game has already been ruined by a quitter.

I’m sure 343 has the data to confirm how it has affected quitting, anything else is purely anecdotal.
Server crashes would not count, but losing internet should count. It doesn’t matter if you quit, got disconnected, or your brother choke slammed your sister into the Xbox, you left the game and your teammates and if you can’t maintain a stable internet connection you shouldn’t play online matchmaking. You should be able to rejoin the game too if you lose connection. Overwatch allows this and if you rejoin quick enough you are not penalised for quitting. That would avoid disconnects negatively affecting people.
I will never acknowledge join in progress as a positive thing for Halo. Absolutely nothing can change my mind so there is no argument to have. My opinion will not change.
I’d love to see a bit more humor return in the storytelling. Halo was never a “funny” game but 4, Guardians, and even Reach cut down on it quite a bit.
