As the Title suggests, what is my motivation to play Halo 4?
In previous Halo Titles, (excluding REACH) when I died, I knew what I did wrong. My strafe was off, I didn’t have the proper weapon for the situation, I chased too blindly, I traveled alone, I missed a shot in a 1v1, ect.
In Halo 4, I feel like a majority of my deaths are out of my control. How so, some may ask? Well. Mainly Armor Abilities, and the ability to spawn with Plasma Grenades (Stickies), the Boltshot, the DMR, the random Ordinance, ect.
I just feel as if there is nothing I can do to improve my performance at this point. So what if I am winning every 1v1 gunfight I get into? It doesn’t matter when I turn a corner to a crouched enemy charging a Boltshot, or scan an area for enemies and sprint out and get sniped by an invisible guy camping across the map, or spawn into the sight-lines of a team team-shooting with their DMRs from across the map, or when I kill someone and they insta-spawn in and nade spam me. Not to mention if someone gets the first shot on me, 90% of the time, I can’t do anything. It’s not like I could turn around, pop them, and knock them out of scope, taking their sights off me for a moment.
I just feel no need to push myself, because no matter what I do, luck will always beat skill in this game. Atleast, that’s the conclusion I have came too.
Oh. And 343, please fix the Active Camo glitch. You know, the one were they don’t put off radar spam, so they are completely invisible?
Does anyone else have similar feelings? Anyone feel the exact opposite?

Ehh-hem. I do have a life, my good sir. I just enjoy… enjoyed Halo. It used to be a fun sit-down experience I could spend an entire day on. It’s just a bit sad seeing it in its current state… Like someone should pull the plug, and put it out of its misery…
Sheesh. It’s like no one plays for fun anymore…
> Sheesh. It’s like no one plays for fun anymore…
this ^, halo 4 is as fun as hell whether you think its balanced or not. Im locked at level 70 but I still play it all time for FUN. If I wanted to be competitive id ask some friends to go to the gym and play basketball.

Fun is such a subjective word.
Very true… You can do everything correct and still end up with many deaths…That’s the nature of BTB, even more so…
For fun?
-Yoink-.
yeah you know why OP? it’s because this game is more like COD now, where any scrub that plays it…even people who have never played halo before… are instantly good. I mean seriously, the achievements and commendations pretty much set you up to die hundreds of times… and like you said…things in the game like armor abilities, insta spawn, op’d weapons, spawning on each others bases so they shot from behind, despawn time of weapons, how op’d the ghost is and how quickly they respawn compared to how weak the banshee is, etc… we’ve heard all this already.

I’m new to Halo… and a veteran COD player. THIS GAME IS NOTHING LIKE COD!!! I can’t stand seeing Halo players write this!!!

Take it easy and grab some personal time with family. It’s the holidays.
Don’t get too strunged with multiplayer.
" it’s because this game is more like COD now"
No, Not it’s not.
Halo 4 still plays like Halo, Still feels like Halo. Still IS Halo.
It’s nothing like Call of Duty.
Oh, loadouts are there, but i don’t see the ability to spawn with rockets, snipers, LMG’s making the game completely unfair. You can only choose standard starter weapons.
I also, seriously hate seeing people say this,
Halo is NOTHING like CoD,

Perhaps not, but it’s closer to COD than any Halo game has been before.
I agree I have found it hard to increase skill

it’s not “close” to CoD at all, if you want games close to CoD theres Battlefield, Medal of Honour etc.

It doesn’t matter when I turn a corner to a crouched enemy charging a Boltshot, **Scan the area in front of you with pro vision. Problem solved.**or scan an area for enemies and sprint out and get sniped by an invisible guy camping across the map, This was in reach too, and actually much worse since camo lasted longer or spawn into the sight-lines of a team team-shooting with their DMRs from across the map Again also in reach, also in Halo CE as well, or when I kill someone and they insta-spawn in and nade spam me. That isnt spam, thats using grenades to kill. You cant even pick up nades in this game from fallen players without a perk. THERE IS NO NADE SPAM IN H4 Not to mention if someone gets the first shot on me, 90% of the time, I can’t do anything. It’s not like I could turn around, pop them, and knock them out of scope, taking their sights off me for a moment. No but you could just get behind cover, or turn return fire and jump right as you turn 1 shot, essentially how it was handled in every halo game…

Nope its not luck, you just dont understand H4 yet. This isnt reach, you actually need aim to win 1v1 DMR fights and you need to use bumper jumper to escape final finishing shots
What’s your motivation?
To beat the other team? To feel the thrill of pulling off an epic kill, or coming back against the other team at the last second and winning with a 1 kill/point/whatever difference? To jump in a Mantis and wreak havoc on the other team?
Or you could play Campaign, which is, believe it or not, the main reason most people play the game. Or Spartan Ops. Or you could make a map in Forge. Or play customs with friends.

Don’t get too strunged with multiplayer.
Sorry, but these posts really annoy me. We’re talking about a game here, there’s no need to lecture him on how to live his life. Really, what do you think you’ll accomplish with that?
To the OP:
I don’t agree with all of your examples but I do share your general sentiment about the game. Features like personal ordinance and despawning weapons have introduced more randomness into the game and thus broken its classic flow (ie. map control and etc.). Halo 4 plays like a game of Team Fiesta; crazy, unpredictable and with a run-and-gun mentality. Fiesta can be fun, but it’s not the core Halo gameplay I’ve come to love.

I did not say it was close to CoD, I said it was closer to CoD than any Halo game has been before. Halo 4 is still Halo, true, but it has tried to adapt its gameplay so that it resembles “modern” shooters more than before. Such as CoD.
To those that say it is not like CoD at all, you’re lying to yourself or you have not played previous Halo’s. H4 is a serious CoD makeover on Halo. Apart from being in space with alien future weapons, how is different than CoD? It’s drifted way more towards CoD from perks, loadouts, insta spawn, ordinance drops are the Halo kill atreaks. All the way down to the scoring and cheesy team emblems pf sharks and stingrays. I am not even that mad about it I just wish he game played better and didn’t feel so cheap and generic.
