What is it you want in a new Halo game?

I’ve read all of these dumb threads about how some nut skull doesn’t like anything Halo 4 so far. So I decided to create this thread to ask the community what it is they want in a new Halo game. The game doesn’t haven to be a sequel or a prequel. Just an ordinary Halo game that YOU had say in. So, let me know what you guys want in a Halo game in the comments down below.
Hopefully some of us will think alike…

Oh yea, and don’t forget to sign your name on this thread (thank) if you liked the freedom of speech.

Innovation, incentive to continue playing, fair and balanced arena game play. To put it very simply I don’t see Halo 4 having any of these things.

.Campaign
.Very nice Multiplayer with tons of customization
.Forge 3.0
.Customs
.Spartan Ops being super awesome

Good ideas so far but you’re way too vague. Explain into detail further because your ideas so far can apply for ALL games.

That’s it, as long as those factors are in Halo 4 alone, I will enjoy it (I hope!)

A lovely Campaign, diverse Matchmaking, amazing Spartan Ops, great Custom Games, a super cool Forge, and a nice Theater. :stuck_out_tongue:

Many more vehicles that you can drive. Also, all vehicles that you can drive in forge mode. All forge objects in all maps. That way we don’t feel the need to be in forge world 100% of the time just so we can use all the objects and have a higher forge limit. I know it won’t happen but I would’ve liked to see a 32 player limit or something higher than 16. Some amazing large maps and overall awesomeness throughout the game. I would like to see Halo 4 become GOTY. The fact it’s an exclusive would make it that much sweeter.

Lol,okay.

I want CE style with changes. I like more vehicles and a bigger arsenal. Along with a great multiplayer with giant maps.

I would have voted for CE style (heck I did anyway) but the option doesn’t allow me to specify. I don’t want 100% CE, as it is not perfect. Nor do I want 100% H2 or H3.

I want to see:

-tricking convenience: areas that continuously yield checkpoints, longer checkpoint delaying, game modifiers (Pinata, Sputnik), AI not getting deleted too early, AI not getting deleted from cutscenes

-strategic emphasis: getting out of maps, messing with load points and AI spawns, AI modifiers, game modifiers (like what Grunt Funeral was intended to be before it turned into a Covie massacring tool of destruction)

-reasonable fun: better players should dominate, modifiers like Bandanna should have a disadvantage, no redundant modifiers like Foreign, shield bleedthrough, not all AI should be able to keep up with you, Hunters should actively pursue you, AI switching to their secondary weapons, a return to H3 resurrection for key allies (perma-invincibility was situational in H3, not always granted to the AI), no bottomless clip enemies

-none of this noob stuff: game killing off AI for you, magic missile Pelicans that kill indiscriminately, op Pelican chin guns that are supremely accurate from over long ranges, excessive autoaim for explosive weapons, AI climbing up objects, invincible allied AI killing everything for you, big hitboxes, AI conveniently showing their weak spots (shielded Jackals) with the same animation every time.

-no grievances: being one-shotted by every invincible allied AI, annoying enemy dropships, damage sponge AI masked by stumbling from shots (a la Skirmishers), dumb friendly AI drivers, not being able to save AI from their scripted deaths

-immersive gameplay: decent fov (about as much as original CE), bigger draw distance, smooth animations and transitions, no noticeable lag when crossing load points, new enemy appearance is a surprise, cutscenes don’t take too much of the exploration/gameplay, no first person cutscenes, good use of quick time events, emphasis on atmosphere (making characters look horror-like is meaningless without this), I finally feel like an athletic Spartan II in powerful armor that can withstand a bunch of ODSTs, missiles, tanks, etc. whatever the UNSC can throw at me

-options, options, options: skipping any cutscene, adjusting sound and music (to be specific, disabling looping music so the music ends after some time), horizontal and vertical looking speed, hud control, creating checkpoints

-no invisible barriers!!

I should be able to get to distant places, come in contact with the skybox:

First video: The Storm had such potential but it’s so confined (also, the 3 flying Banshees are absolutely pointless not to mention all the enemy AI at the aa gun get killed off in the cutscene)
Second video: There seems to be no invisible barrier on Floodgate
Third video: I bypassed the invisible barrier

Honestly, I am a fan of team-oriented situations with actual strategy going on. Thats why I like AA’s. Specialization is a great concept in Halo, because every player can attribute a different play-style, making for hundreds of different ways teams can mold together.

So, for this thread, I say link together all facets of combat: Land, Air, and Water. A ture super soldier should be the ultimate weapon in any small scale battle. The Jet Pack was awesome to me because I could offer something different to, say, a sprinter or cloaker. My attribute to the combat is quick response and attacking from unexpected angles. Also, flying with the aerial vehicles and actually posing threats to them was awesome. Ive always felt like there should be more focus on aerial combat, like having the Falcon and Hornet in the same game, one being an escort gunship, the other a transport. Add in smaller Covenant transport with the Banshees escorting, and you have the makings of some awesome large scale Big Team Objective game modes.

And, since Spartans can clearly survive in a space vacuum, why cant they fight under water? And if thats the case, then incorporate some water and water vehicles, even a water weapon or two. Adjust AA’s so they have dynamics applicable to water (Jet pack becoming like a motor in water, etc.)

Im not trying to turn this into Battlefield, Im just saying my opinion. Make the player a real super soldier who can fight any battle, and set the stage for massive Big Team Battle with 16 players.

I want innovation.

So far, I don’t see any besides the possibility of spartan ops.

Putting “I like the changes” and “I want Halo: Reach style” is kinda redundant because Halo 4 is Reach style, but with some evolution. No matter what they do to the game, they won’t make it like the others, so it won’t be “Halo 3 style” or “Halo: Reach style”. It will just be Halo 4 style because that’ll be the only way to really describe it.

I agree with nearly everything here.

I think the Sparton ops are a grate idea and im excited about them,

I did read in gameinformer that power wepon spawn pints will spit out random power wepons. I think thats cool as long as that is not the only way thay spawn.

Also a lot more custom game options. In additoin to inovation with the options like forced eleat, or diferent bace trates for blue and red team, a change to the max granade count. And definitly regenerating nades with botomles clip.

>a no Assault Rifle playlist
>a no AA playlist
>Forge 3.0 with terrain editor, tree-spawning, no individual object cap (there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to spawn more than 24 wood palettes), object disappearing after set amounts of time, more FX, multiple object selector (“highlighting”), copy, clone, and paste.
>nerfed Jetpack
>flare AA
>visor color selector
>community maps added to map rotation, like in Reach
>melee bleedthrough (A MUST)

Forge:
More options that aren’t grey to the point where it almost could be a dlc map.
Being able to modify weapons in forge.

Campaign: I’m pretty sure it will be good, as they all have been, but a long one.

Multiplayer:
Vehicles- not as easy to damage. Damage is more position oriented so you may get hit but it makes it drive bad if the tires are flat etc.
Ejector seat for falcon.

Weapons: I just want them to all be useful. Bigger grenade splash.

Maps: more interactive than reach, more symmetrical maps.

AAs: limited to certain maps. For instance no jet pack on lockout remakes. Holograms portray the player better and pretend to shoot or better yet run at enemies with a hologram energy sword lol.

Move ability: fast default speed, jump high, etc. no guardians let me get where I want lol.

I want something more… Pinkie Pie Style!

OT:I’d like something more like Halo -3. I noticed how Halo 3 not only impliemnted a lot of new creative features like Forge, Theater, and Armor but also included Equipment to add to general gameplay. There was PLENTY of innovation in Halo 3 but nothing felt like a gimmick. And the core Halo gameplay was still relatively intact (At least as far as I could tell, though many people have told me otherwise).

(No seriously though, Halo 4 needs more ponies.)

I like the changes.

You guys act like if Halo was the center of the universe.

A pre-order bonus that would be, a Halo ring.
