What is in the Limited Edition?

I just saw the thread of all those people complaining about the LE being worthless, i thought it came with three map packs? Can someone fill me in on what it actually comes with?

I could say what it comes with but I myself am quite confused but regarding the map packs you don’t get them straight away you get them when there released like normal, you just get given a code or something via email or in the game case itself but you wont be able to play them until they are released.

Map Packs
Forward Unto Dawn Special Edition
Armor Skin
Weapon Skin
Emblem
Early access to all Specializations
Armor and weapon schematics

It’s definitely worth it, the people saying it aren’t are butthurt about it not coming with Scanner and Strider.

Yeah, or maybe your but hurt you don’t have it and don’t understand what all we have lost, nothing is exclusive to the LE anymore. Tell me how that’s fair.

First it started with the recruit armor, and yes, that WAS advertised as a LE bonus. Scanner and Strider weren’t, but should have been. That isn’t really a problem.

Then the early specialization thing? That’s a joke now. Anyone who plays before Nov. 20 I believe gets that.

FuD? That has to be streamed from waypoint, no matter how good or bad your internet is. You know not everyone who bought LE has to have a connection to do it and maybe just wanted a disk, but no. -Yoink!- is all about there money.

You tell me how we didnt get screwed. And don’t say “your getting halo 4” because I know I am. I PAID for it.

Is this going to be another thread about if the LE is worth it, or are we just answering OP’s question of what it comes with?

Probably referring to this:

I do have it, I pre-ordered it the day it was announced. We didn’t lose anything.

  1. The Prime skin was only advertised as armor at a few places, it was a mistake on the retailers end.

  2. Nope, as far as I know specializations won’t all be available to people who got the standard edition until many months after Halo 4 comes out.

  3. I agree that I would rather get it on DVD but you know what? It’s still something that’s included to the game and IS exclusive to the LE.

You didn’t get screwed, if you add up the price of everything you’re getting it’s well over $100. Stop being so angry with 343, it’s not their fault that a few retailers misunderstood a few things.

Actually an email was sent out yesterday by Microsoft saying that if you play Halo 4 online by November 20th, you get early access to all the specializations, just like the LE buyers who paid extra moment for that. Our exclusive content isn’t all that exclusive anymore.

  1. Wrong, it was advertised by them because its what 343 told them to. I can get a link for proof.

  2. Look at the recent bulletins.

  3. Only till Christmas. And its a rip off for people that cant access the internet, and the sad thing is they probably dont know it.

And I never said 343, Microsoft made the changes, But we did get screwed. And the retailers didnt miss understand anything, they did what they were told.

I agree with this, i am keeping my le pre order. Tell you the truth, i dont even like the scanner and strider helmets. My favorites are Aviater, Mark VI, and Fotus armor

That is a little stupid but guess what? Add the Map packs and Forward Unto Dawn to Halo 4 and you’ve got $100. That doesn’t even include the Armor and Weapon skins, the Emblem, the briefing packet, the Steelbook case, Bonus in-fiction content, Brining the game into reality, and the Avatar prop and armor.

It’s a good deal.

bro, look, this is the main reason why people are complaining

Yeah, unless you have no internet, then no FuD. I would guess that will at least be $20 at least. Or you dont spend the time to watch a 90 minute long video without lag or buffering, possible connection time outs, or so many other possible problems. War games map pass I believe cost about $20. So minus the Fud and adding the map pass cost, you could pay $70 for the same thing.

You’re getting:

Halo 4

Prime Recruit Armor skin

Prime Assault Rifle Skin

Xbox Live avatar stuff

FuD Extended cut via Halo: Waypoint

Early Access to Specializations

Map Packs(when they are available)

Packets

Shiny box

Technically, people are going to gain access to the other 6 Specializations on November 30th if they were to play the game from November 6-20th, and that apparently was the straw that broke their backs.

It was the early release of specialization to all players and the FUD extended edition being streamed (No DVD). Priceless… Besides the paper content, tin case, and FUD extended cut (steamed via Waypoint ONLY), there is nothing special about the LE anymore. People (like myself) are extremely disappointed. There is no “So What” or “Wow” factor in getting the LE unless a person is simply a collector or true Halo enthusiast.

I bought it originally with the assumption that FUD would be on a disk. It isn’t, and no marketing info anywhere has stated that explicitly.

I don’t really see the ability to stream the extended version of FUD from Waypoint all that valuable when we can stream the regular version from Waypoint for free.

They’ve really gummed all of this up. Unnecessarily.

Well i’m mainly getting it because of the three map packs being included i’d end up paying 6 extra bucks for the three map packs, but with the LE i only have to pay 40 extra win/win situation.

You get everything you’re paying for with the LE. People are not being “ripped off.” The issue people have (excluding me) is the fact that there isn’t much that’s “limited” about the Limited Edition anymore. I personally like the PRIME armor skin and I plan on making use of it day 1, but what really had people sold on it was the early specialization access and the war games map pass. That was what really made the limited edition SOUND limited. But now everyone can get the specializations and the map pass, so people are like “Wtf.”

So now people are saying “I’m gonna save myself money and just buy everything separate” when in actuality…

LE Contents:
Game = $60
Map Pass = $20
Steel case, paper content, exclusive skins and emblem and avatar bonuses = $10
Extended FUD stream = $10

If you were to buy everything separately, the Map Pass would cost $25 because it includes the special helmet and armor I think? I’m not sure, but it’s still $25. The FUD DVD (assuming it wasn’t the extended edition) would cost somewhere between $12 and $20 bucks.

Personally, I’m not tripping, I’m happy about pre-ordering the LE and I’m excited to pick it up.

The map pass you can buy separately and get more (helmets, emblem, etc) and you have to stream FuD off of Waypoint, with no option to download it. SO in effect, the only exclusive things you’re really getting are the steel case, an armor skin, a couple physical items, the avatar item, and the ability to stream something that will without a doubt be up on Youtube within a week.

Hardly worth the $100 price tag. $70, $80 at the most.
