what is her issue ?

why does palmer hate halsey so much ? and so determine to kill her ?

She explained it pretty clearly over the past few episodes. Those are her orders and she thinks Halsey is a terrorist.

she is intimidated? i don’t know.

it really annoys me though because she’s acts as if Halsey is dirt even though the only reason she can do half of the things she does is because of Halseys work

I wish we could see the backstory of Palmer a bit more. She’s hugely underdeveloped, and i’m sure there is a reason for her hatred of all things non-her/chief/lasky.

She jelly? Scared to show her sensitive side? Had to fight for everything and her position?

TELL US 343!

As I’ve said before, it’s really quite simple.

Halsey is an Egghead.

The lack of back story surrounding Palmer really does mean we cant understand her motives and emotions at the moment.

All I can offer from a general point of view is that Palmer is a very military and ‘loyal’ soldier to the UNSC and upper chain of command. You could say she follows blind orders as much as Crimson and Majestic follow blindly to Palmer but I would say she is very devoted to what she is told from above.

I think we can reasonably infer there’s a pretty healthy rivalry between the Spartan IIs and the Spartan IVs. The SIVs probably feel slighted that the SIIs have been placed on a pedestal, and Halsey is the primary builder of that pedestal. The SIVs feel they need to prove their worth, and do what they can do close the gap with the SII’s. Thus Palmer’s, “You’re not as tall as I thought.”

And we have no idea how much of Halsey’s criminal record is known to Palmer. I know that would mess with my interactions with the woman.

I still do not understand why she is said to have been a natural choice for her position because of her years as a soldier. There are surviving spartan 2s and 3s that have more experience and even more important knew how to be spartans, so why would not have someone one who was an actual spartan throughout the war be the commander of the flag ships elite and get them ready? As far as Halsey regardless of what she knows about her pointing her pistol in the face of an unarmed old woman 2 different times to try and seem hardcore does not exactly show she is in control of her ego, temper and emotions let alone officer material…

I mean compare Commander Carter to Commander Palmer. Carter faced off with Halsey as well, but did it in very professional and calm way and he commanded the respect of his team, was level headed and most importantly willing to hear the opinions of others. The entire planet was being burnt after the super carrier arrived and he stayed calm and listened to Kats plan which destroyed the carrier. Palmer based on how she acts in spartan OPs would have have been throwing an angry child tantrum about the carrier showing up and called Kat an egghead, probably saying her opinion is not needed(because her ego or need to prove herself is too big to listen) while having no good plan of her own.

All you have to do is compare Carter to Palmer and ask why any surviving spartan II or III was not made commander of the Infinity’s spartan. She is so inferior leadership wise it is pathetic and that is why everyone hates her.

she is mad cuz halsey makes better spartans

> Palmer rant

She’s good at what she does. You saw her in the cut scenes, you’ve seen how she leads your missions. Ultimately she is good at leading, and probably one of the first volunteers for the Spartan IV program.

With that being said I don’t think she hates Halsey. It’s more patriotism than anything else. Halsey was working with Jul, that’s treason in her eyes, no higher crime you command. Right now what I’d assume is going through her head is, “We shouldn’t have brought her here. I told them this was a bad idea and now my men and everyone aboard infinity are/have been put in danger for one criminal that should have been locked up. I’m ending this.”

I personally don’t see any spat between Halsey and Palmer. I just see a dedicated, patriotic, solider trying to get her job done.

If losing your temper like an angry child every time something goes wrong, having a huge ego that makes you talk down to those in your command in a condescending way, dismissing all things scientific as egghead nonsense until it is almost too late and being unwilling to hear the opinions of those below you is considered good leadership with the Spartan IVs then they are indeed inferior spartans.

Compare Palmer with Carter, who would you rather have as your ship Spartan commander?

Palmer. I didn’t like Carter, shame too because Nathan Fillian plays a great commander usually. Just look at Carter’s success record. The most important planet next to hear to Humanity lost. Palmer? Knocking prometheans and covenant’s heads in left and right.

When does she lose her temper? I’m not sure if you’ve ever talked to anyone in the military, but the army has nick names for the navy, marines, and air force and none of them are respectable. The same goes for the other branches of the US military. I don’t seem to see this ego that you’re talking about. She’s not cocky, but confident I also don’t remember her talking down to anyone besides those below her in ranking, which in all honesty is how the military works.

She’s not supposed to be some guardian angel, who is sweet and looks for the right answer. She’s commander of the Spartans. Her job is to make sure people shoot, and they get their job done.

Maybe she has a thing for Halsey? That could possibly be the reason as to why she is lashing out and having a temper tantrum every 5 Minutes. >.<

I think she’s jealous because Halsey is smarter and better than her and can do the same amount of damage if not more than her.

btw
what did Halsey do to roland in that episode that changed him to do her will ?

Uh…Nathan didn’t play Carter. He played Buck, in ODST.

Some hidden emergency override protocol Halsey must have hidden in AI’s, The sentence she said must have activated it.

Nah Halsey the real deal not some stupid Happy button pressing EggHead.

Halsey explains the reason in, I believe, Episode 2 during the ride to the engine room, by pointing out the difference between her SPARTANS and SPARTAN IVs.

I mean the old broad is a pain in their -Yoinks!-…she had it coming plus she only got it in the shoulder.
