What is happening to HALO?

Hi everyone

So, what is happening to HALO? Especially Reach? Is it just me or did everyone else notice that HALO started getting worse and worse when 343 took over, and even before that? In Reach chat voices lag, the game lags, parties lag, everything lags and moves way to slow. I was in BF3 and the party and voices were fine. HALO Wars, fine. Went to Reach then everything got slow and kept lagging me out. I am a huge player of Living Dead (Infection) but not as of recently, because original, good Bungie made maps are being replaced by community maps accepted by 343, that are in my opinion just bad. Too many kill zones, sword lunges go to far and so do slashes, and the spawning seems to be messed up. (zombie spawn behind defender) I don’t play other gametypes that much except for BTB, Invasion, Anniversary and once in a while others, but they seem to have similar problems. I really hope 343 is paying attention to this and all their feedback. I also hope they don’t forgot about or allow HALO 3 servers to be canceled if they can when HALO 4 comes out. I recently played HALO 3 and it seemed fine. Unfortunately, I’m not playing Reach as mug as I used to anymore. I really hope 343 can manage and maintain HALO!

Doesn’t lag for me i just played like 20 games of btb in a party with 10 people in it and had ZERO lag.I think your just looking for something to complain about.Or you have a crap connection or your unlucky

I must be very unlucky, because this happens to me in every gametype.

Check your network if you’re having problems consistently.

I do find it…interesting that you say that Halo 3 is “just fine” but Reach is giving you problems though.

> I must be very unlucky, because this happens to me in every gametype.

I’d start going towards the ‘your internet sucks’ assumption, when I lag, it is always my connection in Reach and other Xbox LIVE games.

I never experience in-game voice chat lag or anything you suggest commonly.

Also, about the Halo 3 servers being ‘cancelled’, it won’t happen, not until the original Xbox LIVE service is shut off, the only reason the Halo 2 servers went offline was due to the original Xbox LIVE service as a whole being shut off, Halo 2 would still be online to this date if it was an Xbox 360 game.

Truthfully i see exactly what airless micro means. As the one hoo posted the article rage for reach, i feel the same. things havent been bungie fine. 343 is certaintly not making a good name for themselves

Ok, look. People like Darkone hoo make f**d up posts just to argue r retarted. He isn t the only 1 who has experienced way to much lags. I have, every1 has. And that Dk knows it to. Im sure he definetly has. Lots of my friends have bad lag experiences just like this. We all check connection and literally everything is fine until we put in the the reach disk. As a lifelong halo fan this sucks. Its all just S****y.

Think b4 u talk out of ur A*s darkone

I’d definitely check the connection if it was consistently bad. I don’t have the greatest connection, but it’s still unproblematic most of the time!

Also, take a look at this thread and see if you can find anything of use!

If it’s consistent it’s your connection or the traffic on your connection (like other people using the PC, where even watching a YT video causes lag with decent connections).

h1: Socialism in gaming world?

h2: BF3 has dedicated severs, Halo uses host.

h3: -Yoink!- thank you.

I hope H4 isn’t messed up as it sounded from the last update BsA posted.
It seems the HALO and COD universes are colliding. And when two universes collide, nothing good ever comes from it. It’s total destruction. I’d rather combine positrons and electrons on my nethers than play a combo of both.

I’m actually very happy they are pushing the franchise in a new direction. Nothing about this game seems to mimic the problems I have with the COD series. COD’s major problem is balance, and we have no way of seeing whether Halo 4 will be balanced until launch. Loadouts don’t bother me and I actually do hope that the armor itself offers MINOR bonuses. For instance one pair of legs lets you sprint for an extra 2 seconds but at a slower speed, another lets you sprint 5% faster but at the cost of 2 seconds of total sprint time. Another pair keeps the speed and duration at default. Minor effects could be very interesting to gameplay, but I do have to stress MINOR. And with loadouts, as long as the weapons are balanced, I’m fine with it.

I’ve been playing Halo since the launch of CE. I was completely burned out of the series six months into Halo 3. Reach keeps my attention mostly from forging and customs. (Also the fact that I’ve never found another shooter that I can appreciate in Multiplayer) One thing Reach did right though was to add AAs. They weren’t balanced at first which is why they probably had such a strong negative reaction. But I love switching it up now and then. What AA I use completely changes how I play the game, which keeps Reach fresh and allows me to play a map in different ways adding to the games longevity.

After a decade of Halo, I really do believe it’s time to push the series forward. No franchise can survive in this gaming world without new innovations. COD is starting to lose it’s steam as well. COD 4 came out in 2007 only five years ago. Halo has been around for a decade. It’s time for some fresh content.

Exactly! I’ve been pushing for H4 to do something different from the rest of the series, which is precisely what 343i is doing. If you start to have the same stuff in every game, that line of uniqueness between each game seems to blur, and the series becomes stale.

funny how he blames 343 for reach being bad, yet the only thing they do with reach is playlist updates and stat tracking. reach is still bungie’s work…

Its either your internet connection or you are playing with a host with a bad connection.

Good response. Wasn’t expecting anything like that.

Yes this game honestly blows since 343 got their inbred fingers on it. I seriously CANNOT play a -Yoink!- game without being shot through walls at least every other death. Yea I play for fun but I also play competitively, or at least I did before 5 ft thick steel walls became penetrable. These forge maps are garb.
