What is Halo Wars like?

I watched my roommate play about 5 minutes of the demo 3 or 4 years ago.

I have always thought about getting just to add to my waypoint score but now I’m think about getting it just to play it!
I want something other than a FPS but I think I could still relate to the game… Is that true?

Is it fun, does it have re-playability?

What’s it like?

Can you still play online?

It is definitely something different. If you’ve never played a Real Time Strategy game before, Halo Wars is a good start for beginners. Most players got the game simply because “Halo” was slapped on the title, and were disappointed when it wasn’t an FPS. It’s a solid game with great controls for a console RTS. I was surprised.

I’ve only played through the campaign like twice out of the four years I’ve owned it. I’m not much of a campaign person, but the multiplayer definitely has re-playability. I still play when I have free time. If you aim to improve your skills online, you won’t want to stop playing. There is a lot to learn and the more you learn the better you’ll get. It’s especially fun with friends. The population isn’t what it used to be (obviously), but you shouldn’t have a problem finding matches online.

If you decide to buy the game feel free to add me anytime.

Even coming from an RTS perspective on the computer (BFME2 <34ever) Halo Wars is one of my favorite RTS games.

Got it back in 2010, still playing it a lot today. The Campaign is a good one, with a good story, and teh CGI in it are (almost) on par with Halo 4’s, if not a little more cartoonish.

But I would recommend to anyone even thinking about buying this game, to do so, since A, the population goes up if you do  and B, it’s a good, solid RTS game.

Thanks for the input

I think I’ll probably pick it up with in the week now! I’m actually kind of excited to do so now!!!

It’s worth it trust me i want them to make a Halo wars 2

It’s a fun game. BFME2 ROTWK still my favorite though.

Fun, easy to play and easy to master RTS. Anyone with half a brain can break 40 TS and if you meet good players can make it into the high level community pretty easily.
halowarslegion.com is where most good players hang out, this site is full of “WTF why do people not let me tech straight to uber units” and other kids who don’t know how to build units.
