What is Halo 5 missing to be considered Halo?

I guess for some time now, I can’t help but feel that Halo 5 may be missing something for it to really be considered a real Halo game. It could be the gameplay and it’s mechanics, or it could be the design of the whole thing, or at least some certain aspects of it. I personally think that it’s missing a Halo CE type of feel, though that much is obvious. Halo 3, to me, seems to have the feel of both the first and second one, mostly because it’s a sequel to both of those games. So what do you think the game was lacking for it to be considered ‘Halo’?
Keep in mind that this post is in no way bashing the current game or 343i in particular, just some curiosity on what the game could have been for it to be considered Halo or what it may be lacking.

Why I believe it isn’t completely considered to be Halo:
-Missing a good campaign
-Missing splitscreen
-Sprint (don’t really care, seems to be a common complaint)
-Spartan Charge
-Smart Scope, which is more or less just ADS
-REQs
-Missing some older game modes (we still don’t have Assault, do we?)
-Art style is very different (compare the new vehicles to the older versions)

EDIT: Just to clarify, I personally think Halo 5 retains enough (to be honest, it’s not many elements to me) gameplay elements to qualify to be called a Halo title. but in some aspects, such as the campaign, are not worthy of being a mainline game.

Halo 5 is not missing, it has things that do not make a Halo game.

Yes.

I can live with the new mechanics but Halo for me was all about the social experience. Splitscreen… f’ing off with friends in FF… going ham with a random in a warthog in BTB without having extreme perspiration issues… All things missing for me in H5

A long TTK is what makes halo, halo.
Edit: I see my error, the halo 5 TTK is fine, the thread is a about how HALO 5 can be changed.

Halo 5 is Halo, just like 4, MCC, Reach, H3, H2, Spartan Assult, Spartan Strike and even Halo Wars… Halo 5 isn’t missing anything that doesn’t make it Halo… IMO…Just because every Halo game is different doesn’t make it any more or any less Halo.

It’s just that in some ways, it deviates to far from what made halo what is was in the past.

Oooooh, TTK is time to kill. Games like call of duty have a very short TTK while halo is known for its long TTK.

Oh, I see. yeah, that would be nice too.

Just recently after playing the custom game mode in MCC, it made me realize that the gameplay doesn’t feel too far off from Halo 1-4, but H5 seemed to be faster in movements(and that’s without sprint). So basically, multiplayer doesn’t feel too different, at least from the core aspect. So I guess what H5 seems to be lacking was a good campaign experience, the kind that would date back to Halo CE.

-Story and Gameplay focus on the Covenant and Flood, not “Prometheans” (Eugh)
-Open, well-designed Campaign Missions
-Interesting and competitive multiplayer maps.
