They talk about all this stuff saying it’s going to be a great game. They try and add competitive elements such as Br low bloom DMR.
Then they go and add random weapon drops. Those perk things etc.
A quote:
"In Halo 4 multiplayer, weapon drops won’t be predictable. Rather, they’ll appear dynamically both in location and in content. You might get lucky and get a rocket launcher, and you might be fortunate enough to have that SPNKr drop a mere feet from your location. In the event something good is falling from the sky, the Engineer’s Drop Recon armor mod provides an advantage. “A couple extra seconds before everyone else sees the [drop] coming down, the Engineer is gonna get a heads-up,” Ellis says. Secondarily, he adds, “Based on the distance to the weapon, you can get an arrow pointing you to where the nearest timed ordinance drop is coming in. It extends the range of those popping up on your HUD.”
One thing we should have learnt from Reach is that RANDOMNESS does NOT make for good gameplay(see bloom and AA’s)
So is the goal of H4 to be an absolute abomination of randomness and casualness(weow not real words). Throwing map control, weapon timing etc out the window?
as of what I have seen The weapon drops and and aas look good for this game. number 1 you cannot get extra ammo for the weapon drops so once you get it there is no supply crate.
gameplay in halo 4 is fast paced and allows for much more movement and flexibility

You can be supportive of a company without being a “fanboy.” I too, think they are doing a fantastic job.
Bloom was random. Armor Abilities were and are not. And as for the competitiveness and “casualness” of the mechanics?
In any game worth playing, your success is the product of two things: the decisions you make, and your ability to follow through with those decisions. It’s about properly deciding what to do, and then being able to do the thing you’ve decided to do.
Bloom violated that concept: while one could decide whether to spam or pace, it took very little skill to perform either. Spamming was mashing a trigger, pacing was pressing a trigger at short regular intervals with audio and visual cues to guide you, and both were easy. You couldn’t really be bad at spamming or at pacing, and hence you couldn’t really be good at it; it was, therefore, a non-competitive game mechanic.
Armor Abilities, when well-implemented, fit within that concept. I can decide to be a defensive player and use Hardlight Shield, but I still have to be good at being a defensive player that uses Hardlight Shield. An opponent can then decide whether to counter me with grenades, or whether to try and flank me; either way, they still have to be good at playing out their decision. No part of this process is random; even if someone picks an Ability without thinking about it, they are still deciding – just poorly.
Armor Abilities only failed in Reach because of their implementation – it took very little effort to be good at the Ability one has decided to use. If Halo 4 avoids that problem, then I fail to see how they’d compromise a competitive environment and turn the game into a “casualtastic abomination”.
(That said, I do disagree with weapon drop locations being purely random. At the very least, it should be set up so that dropped weapons are equidistant from all players on the map, when such a placement is possible.)

Of course they’re doing a fantastic job, I think that too and I fully support them as well. But you can’t blindly defend them with every little thing, that way they won’t know where they need to improve or focus on in the game. And they won’t know the communities opinion on said feature. You can either love Halo and try to help it succeed or love Halo and make it out like it’s already perfect.

I’m trying to tell you that uncertainty and randomness are two completely different things. Just because you can’t predict what an opponent might be using doesn’t mean that the game has suddenly become random.
Perhaps you should take more care in using that word.
