Like I seriously don’t see much reason to use if for anything. Doesn’t it do the same DPS as AR/Suppressor/SMG or whatever? The only application I see for it is when you’re shooting in small bursts with gaps of time in between, so you don’t really ever have to stop shooting. Otherwise though, the AR I’m pretty sure has better range, the SMG I’m sure has better damage, the Suppressor… I don’t know, it homes in on targets right? I don’t use Suppressor very much.
It just seems like other things are better at whatever it can do, besides the signature covenant heat resource (as opposed to clips).

What? The storm rifle is strong if you burst fire it vs an AR. AR can be constant and if burst an AR it won’t be as fast as a Storm Rifle. However once req level 3 hits, it becomes useless. SMG can probably outclass it too.
Clearly, you do not understand that each weapon serves a purpose, I find the storm rifle to be more powetfull than the AR at close range.

Please no nerf. It was sort of pointless in halo 4. It’s a req item for a reason. It doesn’t last long because it is energy based. It’s meant to be more stronger than the AR if done correctly. Which makes it a one time use or a pick up from Elites. We all use AR and Magnums right away but we won’t come across storm rifles way too often.
Storm Rifle has a very fast ttk If you’re accurate. It can also tear through an Overshield extremely quickly.
The storm rifle straight up wrecks the AR and even the SMG sometimes though the SMG is more forgiving. There is literally no reason NOT to drop the AR for a storm rifle.
- Yeah I read title and said “Wtf?” The storm rifle is a BEAST. I also think it has the potential of being nerfed. AR/SMG/Suppressor beating storm? Ehh no. Unless you can’t use it. I even find myself beating BR/magnum mid-range with it. Just gotta know how to shoot it.
It’s good because it quickly kills people at close range.

That gun destroys at close range, it can outgun an AR.
Storm rifle is a brutal SMG. I used to ignore it but I never ever walk past one now.
Carbine and Storm Rifle FTW.

I used to think in a similar way.
Then I picked one up.
When you just started Warzone the storm rifle is very useful when you’re trying to get rid of the enemy when you want to capture a base. Also it only costs 1 req point.
I once won a face off against a player with a full overshield on Regret using a Storm Rifle. I kept it from overheating by laying on the trigger until the heat gauge turned orange, then letting off for a split second and letting it quickly drain back to blue. It took about three 8-9 round bursts to rip his shields away, and another 5-6 rounds to put him down, all in the span of about 5 seconds. The Storm Rifle is a beast once you learn how to control the bursts.
The storm rifle is an awesome weapon, but it’s projectiles have no auto aim or magnetism and are also not hitscan, meaning it’s pretty easy to miss an evasive spartan with it. How ever it has a faster TTK then the assault rifle or BR up close, so it has a niche, I really like using them in spire.
