so as we know, cortana ‘died’ or whatever at the end of halo 4, and in original e3 trailer it was cheif in his cloak, which yet we wait for, like the 2003 semi auto BR. Anyway after the announcements of Osiris etc. The focus has moved onto them and hunting down MC etc., so where the flying fish is cortana? Or on the other hand, who is the AI, you would’ve thought for ONI operatives they would have an AI. Not much more to say as this isn’t a topic that requires 20 paragraphs, so yeah…

Halo 4 was released 3 years ago.
Cortana is “appearing” in Halo 5, as Chief hallucinating. The developers call it the Ghost of Cortana. Think Halo 3 Cortana Moments.

If someone goes on the Halo forums without knowing the ending of Halo 4 and gets spoiled, it’s their own fault that they hadn’t played it yet. But I suppose I’ll make it a spoiler from now on.

Chief, and seemingly only Chief, experiences Cortana as a ghost. Just what that ghost is or its origins is unknown, but I have some ideas and none of them are good news.

She doesnt have to be alive for her to be a threat. The gravemind projected her to chief in halo 3. Im not saying the flood will return, but cortana doesnt have to be alive to affect the story. Also she could have meant a threat to the mission (distraction) or to his sanity.

Can almost guarantee she shows up in at the very least another AI.
to the guy(s) who said that I should know the ending of halo 4, did you read my post or are you just reading the topic title. To those who think halo 3 I can agree but I think would both add to the squad assisting cheif vibe as well as sort of ruin the story, and for those who think she is staying dead… Don’t worry about it…

I really hope that Blue team reacts to Chiefs hallucinations, 343i could have blue team and simultaneously the player questioning Chiefs sanity leading to the player doubting if hes doing the right thing.

I was making a joke about him not putting it in a spoiler. I think people who don’t know the ending of the game nearly 3 years old are complete ignorant dumb -Yoinks!- especially since they contribute on the forums. But I’m glad I confused you

Im sure your right, the hallucination is caused by some other mind.
However I would like to see hallucinations/dream of Cortana in Halo 5 that is not the result of some Intelligence trying to manipulate the Chief, but simply a result of John’s loss over losing her. At least that way, we could still have “Cortana” appearing in future games without the Chief being used by some alien intelligence.

gravemind only messed his brain up, he’s a Spartan, he will get over it xD and yeah, I want to see Cortana messing with him through loss, and blue team picking up on it, but I don’t want a lot of dialogue/gameplay to be based on Cortana because, although I want her in there, I want her sublty, I want squads to be the focus.
also doesn’t that sound like a battlefield appeal now, I mean like squads and revive and stuff, that is litterally bf3 night in a nutshell. Especially with me running onto a sniper infested field.
