Cat 2 Spartan-III recruits were determined to have the genetic aptitude to be on par with the Spartan-II candidates that required stricter genetic protocols. Essentially, they were Spartan-IIIs that would still have been accepted into the program if the genetic protocols remained just as rigorous as they used to be.
