What is boosting?

I see it mentioned in threads and can tell that it’s obviously bad (a bannable offense), but what is it?

It is were a group of players get together and kill each other to win games faster.

Happens quite a lot in free for all gametypes.

This can also include achievement boosting, commendation boosting, and other things.

Meaning, deliberately setting up a lobby with friends and non-playing guest controllers and grabbing a certain achievement, or working on one person’s certain commendation.

In a nutshell, it’s playing games the way they weren’t meant to be played, for one person or more’s benefit.

Ah, thank you. Yeah, that doesn’t sound fair at all. But that description does explain some of the stuff I’ve seen in matchmaking.

Boosting is when you and or a couple of friends go on matchmaking and basicly not play the game right, such as working with the other team to get achievements or rank up instead of doing it legitamently.

It is considered a form of cheating. It involves either yourself or any other individual aiding one another in a ‘private session’ in an online game in order to achieve a feat by your own means of succession and without the hardship of doing it without the intentions and planning with the assistance of other players, whether it be ranking up, getting nukes or head shots in MW2 (Yes I am sure we have all been there), earning achievements in Halo 4 etc…

its when you consistently play a game type that pays a lot of credits or XP
