For the season challenge, “Night Knight, Sleep Tight”, the description reads for available weapons as “SENTINEL GUN, SENTINEL BEAM… etc.”. I have looked everywhere online, and in game to figure out what a Sentinel Gun is. The blue and red laser versions of the sentinel beams are still called sentinel beams, and the Halo 4 armor ability is called Auto-Sentry. Is this just a typo 343 made, or is this a legit weapon I am forgetting about?
Most likely a typo. So many of the challenges have small typos here and there.
I think it might be their method of differentiating between the regular and gold Sentinel Beams in in Halo 2, since that game has two versions of the weapon, but they are both called Sentinel Beam in the game.

I’m pretty sure it’s because there are two types of Sentinel Beam in Halo 2, one yellow, used by Sentinel Minors, and one blue, used by Sentinel Majors, the latter are a gold colour with tougher shields. The two weapons function identically, and are likely only there to help differentiate the two variants of Sentinel, however they are counted as separate weapons in the game files…
