Not trying to be snide or anything but it’s been a while since I played Halo and would like to know 343’s plan regarding the challenge system, season pass, leveling up, etc.
See how far they can go with it before people get angry. Then go one step back and charge money or give some incentive to spend money (xp boost etc.)
Awful vague how long has it been since you played? The challenge system is up and running and seems to be working fine. I don’t think they have any plans for it right now as they seem to be concentrating on getting all MCC ported over to PC. After that is any ones guess. I imagine the future of the challenge system will be getting some new and different challenges as most of them kinda repeat week to week. I would like to see them have daily, weekly and seasonal challenges. Especially since some of the weekly are more of daily. It would be nice to have some daily that award xp and then have the weekly and seasonal award xp and seasonal points. They also need to make it where leveling up and challenges award seasonal points.
I’m not sure if there really is any long-term goal for the challenge system. The way I see it, it’s just one, small, extra incentive to keep players coming back. The main problem with it right now, for me at least, is that the challenges are very repetitive.
They could be using MCC as a testing ground for a challenge and seasonal progression system in Infinite, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s the case. I think this is mainly just their way of keeping people interested in MCC.
