I think that either at the end of Halo Wars 2, or at the beginning of Halo 6, the Infinity, and what remains of the Arbiter’s forces will arrive at the Ark while the Spirit of Fire is still there. And the Ark will be a staging ground for striking back at Cortana. I think the most likely means of them trying to take Cortana out would be going to Maethrillian and trying to shut down the Domain by destroying Abaddon.

Would you rather have them go to the Ark or Maethrillian? Having the big finale being at the Ark would feel too much like a repeat of Halo 3 IMO. Hope we get to go to Maethrillian. I think it would be cool if Abaddon re-emerged and destroyed Cortana from the inside.

As I stated, I’m thinking of the finale being at Maethrillian, with the Ark (the only place known to be beyond Cortana’s reach) is where they regroup before going.

I hope we don’t destroy Abaddon, but he destroys Cortana.
Slightly off topic, but it’s an awfully huge assumption to make that this Abbadon thing even exists anymore since Growth-Through-Trial-Of-Change “rebooted” the Domain. It would be wiser to to not act like its reappearance is some kind of certainty when there is so little information available right now.

Theory 1:
Flood.
The Gravemind survived and bringing Cutter/Atriox to the Ark is purely to rebuild his bloated mass and swell his armies again. Reveal the threat of the Flood.
Theory 2:
Cortana controls the Array ready to enact her plan.
Theory 3:
Reveal through Mendicant Bias that Cortana has the Logic Plague and that it has corrupted her.
Theory 4:
Cutter/Atriox or even both recovers something that can neuter or diminish the power of the Guardians. This can allow a major counter attack against Cortana.
Theory 5:
My mind gets blown and all four of the above happen. 
Storyline-wise, I can’t imagine it will have a massive impact. It could, and I’d like it too, but it might not.
But it’s absolutely a testbed for tone and visual style, and I think the look of the game at least as far as the cutscenes go will influence Halo 6 greatly.

Assuming it does have a direct impact on H6’s narrative at all (since they could backpedal on that of course), it does seem possible the Ark will be the jumping off point for wherever Infinity and Co. have to go to take down the Created from inside the Domain, hopefully Maethrillian (how awesome would it be to see Maethrillian in a game) - since directly confronting the Created in conventional warfare should get the UNSC/SOS nowhere, unless we seriously nerf Forerunner technology - which, also, sadly, is entirely possible.

For all the difference it makes, here’s one… worth noting that it goes into absolutely no detail, and of course it could all be backpedaled upon anyway.
Here is my theory. A Halo is involved. That much we know. We know a Halo (from the comics) was teleported away for repair. Where else, but the Ark.
We know that at least part of Halo Wars 2’s plot parallels Halo 5’s timeline. I believe this Halo will be repaired and moved before the SoF can stop it. This Halo is the same Halo we see in the post-credits of Halo 5, clearly in control of Cortana.
Halo 6 will, at least in part take place o n this ring. Cortana is heard humming olly olly oxen free, which we all know is a signal to blue team. I believe she’s challenging John, and the rest of Blue team to come and find her on that ring.
The Banished have to survive Halo wars 2. It’s too new and too powerful a faction not to. How they fit in to Halo 6’s plot? I don’t know. But it will be great to fight both Brutes and Elites again. Not to mention, drive Banished Variants of vehicles!

So the Halo ring we see in the Halo Wars 2 Launch Trailer is either the repaired Gamma Halo or an Installation 04C

The Halo ring that we see in the trailer has to appear in Halo 6 or be play massive part. I find it too much of a coincidence that the Halo 5 Legendary ending shows a Halo ring being “activated” and now we’re seeing a newly built Halo ring (Or repaired if you think it’s Installation 03). If Atriox and the banished survive Halo wars 2 then I think that they will replace the role of the Covenant in later Halo games and if the Spirit of Fire survives and reunites with the UNSC then I think that they will either join up with the Infinity or head for Sanghelios to meet up with the Chief. Those are my thoughts.
