What if the customization items and whatnot actually followed the flavortext, such as Stinger’s switching from aerial to land faster, or Dynasty’s apparent dozens of embedded quality-of-life apps?
What? I’m sorry I just don’t understand!
…I’d really prefer that armor not affect gameplay. Maybe for a future spin-off title. But not a main series title.
If you’re being serious, then I suppose I can repeat myself.
‘What if the customization options actually did what the description said they do?’
ech, forgot to quote
no, no just no. maybe for a spin off but not for the main series.
Do you mean like a role play thing? If so than i think that would be cool, but i think most people would just put on the same armor set(s). If you mean hypothetically the armor you put on in game actually gave you things in real life, like the dynasty helmet actually giveing you apps on your phone or your Google glasses than i would think that everyone would have a better life unless they put on the timmy helmet… then they just want to build and create.
- Put on the Abyss visor and all blood and gore is replaced with sunshine and rainbows. - If you’re a lesser warrior, you’ll lose yourself in a storm of blood if you put on Achilles armor. - You’d take less damage from getting melee’d while wearing Dynast armor. - Since we’re supposedly playing as Spartan IVs in Halo 5, we’d need an “acclimatization period” before using Hellcat armor. - You know all those people who say “Halo 5 needs more blood?” They would only need to equip a Mad Dog visor to get their wish. - Spartans wouldn’t die instantly from falling into water while wearing Mako armor. - You would need significant technical expertise to use a Midnight visor. - If you put on a Security helmet, you’d see two watchdog AIs on the edge of your display. - All of your deaths would be stylish if you had the Vandal visor equipped. - All those armors that talk about having “sensor veiling” technology, like Infiltrator and Scout, wouldn’t show up on motion trackers.

Much better.

Oh! Makes a lot more sense now, I don’t what flavortext means. That’s is what confused me.

That doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. I prefer even starts to trying to figure out which combination of perks/attributes/trinkets offers the best advantage to my play style. Some of them would inevitably be broken or imbalanced and lead to a ‘meta’ which would lead to everyone wearing virtually the same armor for the advantages it holds.
Sounds like we are going into perks territory ala call of duty or battlefield classes. It’d be a cool idea but 343i would screw it up royally and make all armor mods paid dlc and then half the community would be at a loss.
Great idea tho, unfortunately the people behind putting it into play just aren’t capable, or knowledgeable about balance/quality.
I think halo is halo because everyone is equal and that’s why I like too much the game so no armor perks for me dude sorry
