The Covenant are just trying to discover and embrace the artifacts, who cares if they believe the Forerunners are gods, they have every right. Yes the Great Journey was purely an evil plan, but that was only Truth’s plan. The Covenant are just a peaceful group of species searching the galaxy for artifacts. I have a feeling something else sparked the Human Covie war, something to do with ONI.

In the first paragraph, are you talking about the Forerunners or the Covenant?
When did humans invade Covenant planets? Didn’t the Covenant attack first according to The Fall of Reach?
And it isn’t like just the Prophets wanted us dead. The Prophets are gone now, yet a part of the Elites still wants to destroy humanity.
Tho I agree about humanity being monstruous enough to kill their own citizens and kidnap children.
Humanity has always been recognized as a race that grows too fast. The Forerunners disliked humanity, the Covenant dislike humanity, and even Sanghelios dislikes them, but agree to stay out of each others’ business because of a truce. All because they colonize and grow way too fast. But honestly, did that call for the creation of Halo?
Well… we did hold the Flood off until the Forerunners defeated us from the other side leaving them exposed to the Flood.

1 that was because we where running away from the flood, but the forerunners misunderstood our intentions.
2 did you read contact harvest? a forerunner AI told truth/regret/mercy that humans where reclaimers. this proved that the covie religon was false, and truth didnt want anyone to know this so he tried to kill all the humans.
Whoever the Forerunner is in the new Gameplay trailer, he clearly still believes in Sanctity of life. I think he sees us as a threat to the mantle, that’s why he wants us dead, and i agree.
Forerunners (Well most) believed in the Sanctity of life, yet all we’ve done is pillage and colonize every planet we could, like a parasite, we just keep taking and taking, pushing every other species aside for our own needs. It’s almost impossible for us to Co-exist with another race without USING them for our own needs. This i think is what the Forerunners hated about us, and it seems our traits didn’t change after we were de-evolved. They still hate us, and have every right.
The Forerunners did far worse to the galaxy when they were in power, so did the Covenant. To imply humans are as if not more evil than those two factions is a bit off.

That’s what we’re told but having a sneak peak at a certain new book I can tell you, everything you know about the forerunners and why the Halo’s were fired is about to change.

What “some” forerunners did, not all, the key characters in the Forerunner saga are the reasons we all still exist.
The forerunners wern’t much better. Neither was the Covenant. There are no good or bad guys in Halo. All races have done things deemed wrong. The Covenant tried to wipe out an entire race because of their religion. The Forerunners nearly drove a race to extinction and then deevolved them. Humanity took their children and made them undergo a process that would probably kill them. No one is in the right here.
I agree with Decepticoncobra and objectivedust4, no other race is any better than us and I would say one of the worst things the forerunners did was De-evolved us, what gives one race to do that to another, just out of pure power and spite? That’s probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of from the forerunners, IMO worse than the rings and other stuff and definitely worse then us, the humans, having to defend ourselves from the flood and than the covenant 100k years later.
Humans just don’t get a break!

And “some” humans are causing mischief now. Besides, the Forerunners as a whole still took worlds from their natives species and kept evolutionary progression down for the galaxies species.
It’s those damn Covies I tell you! Prying at locked doors and sticking thier noses where they don’t belong! Meddlers. . .

OP, every race sees the other as a threat. If you read The Thursday War you would know what I mean.
Humans: have just been trying to survive this whole time (Flood, Covenant, Flood again, now Forerunner AND Covenant again) oh and keep in mind the reason we kidnapped those kids to turn them into Spartans was to end a destructive civil war (noble cause don’t you think?)
Covenant: have tried and are still trying to wipe out humans
Forerunners: high class preening douchers that believe they are the sole protectors of the galaxy by de-evolving other races, disintegrating people, using humans as test subjects on the flood, nearly wiping out the Precursors…
Yeah…no I’d say the humans are still the good guys. It’s just ONI that’s all screwed up.
