What if The Master Chief was a DLC Commander in Halo Wars 2?

Hypothetically, what if Spartan John-S117 was made a playable Commander of the UNSC? How would he play as a commander and what units would be available? What about Leader Powers?

I was bored and decided to make this. What do you think so far of this prototype concept?

    • *replaces the WARTHOGS - garrisonable troop-transport, with a Spartan-IV passenger always riding shotgun, weapons varying depending on upgrade. Default has a Commando Rifle. Able to garrison one unit at default, infantry only excluding Cyclops.
    • Explosive Ordnance - upgrade to allow for Fusion-Coils to be mounted on the rear and thrown by the shotgun passenger at the enemy, creating explosive damage. If the vehicle is destroyed, it explodes violently to damage surrounding enemy units. Upgrade also changes the passenger’s Commando Rifle to a Grenade Launcher.
    • Capacity Upgrade - allows for a second infantry-unit to garrison the Razorback, bolstering its damage output and allowing infantry to move across the field more swiftly.

  • BLUE TEAM - Similar to Commander Jerome’s Omega Team, only without the Inspire bonus and they are deployed through the Armory building rather than as the maximum Leader Power. Spawning Blue-Team at the Armory will grant you three Spartans - Fred, Kelly, and Linda. If one dies, you can respawn them at The Armory for â…“ the cost. If the Maximum Leader Power of BLUE REUNION has been activated, then John-S117 is able to be deployed from The Armory.
  • Frederic-S104 - Frederic comes equipped with a Commando Rifle. What makes him a bit more unique is the fact that he comes with an Overshield that allows him to be in the center of the action longer than other Spartans in Halo Wars.
  • Kelly-S087 - Kelly comes equipped with a Shotgun. What makes her a bit more unique is the fact that she has a 20% speed boost that allows her to move swiftly and close the gap with her combat against other units trying to flee.
  • Linda-S052 - Linda comes equipped with her signature Sniper Rifle. Like with the regular Sniper infantry you can spawn at The Barracks, she has an active-camo module that allows her to be cloaked unless she is firing upon something or being fired upon/detected by an enemy unit.
  • *John-S117 - John comes equipped with an Assault Rifle. What makes him a bit more unique is the fact that he has a Damage Boost when compared to the other Spartans of Halo Wars 2.
    • Hijack Upgrade - Upgrade that allows for the Spartans of Blue Team to each Hijack an enemy vehicle.
    • Equipment Upgrade - Provides Frederic with a Drop-Wall, Kelly with a Thruster-Pack, Linda with a Bubble-Shield, and John with a Grapple-Shot.
    • The Weapon - Blue Team gains support of The Weapon being able to enhance their shield regeneration and damage output is increased by 20%.
    • *LP BLUE REUNION - Maximum Leader-Power that adds Spartan John-S117 to Blue Team as a fourth individual that can be commanded, giving the player a Fourth Spartan to make use of on the field.

  6. BOMBING RUN I / II / III - Longswords are called in for a carpet-bombing. Level 1 calls in one bomber. Level 2 extends the range of the run and boosts damage 20%. Level 3 adds a second bomber to be called in for a wider range of explosives across the region.
  7. BUBBLE SHIELD - A bubble-shield is deployed over the battlefield and is the size of a Restoration Drones II circle, allowing for friendly units to be safe from units attempting to fire upon them from the outside and offensive leader powers to have their damage output reduced by 25%.
  8. TURRET DROP I / II
  9. BLITZ RUSH - Units caught in range of the effect will gain a 20% boost to mobility and a 10% boost to damage output.
  10. COMBAT SALVAGE
  11. AIR SUPPORT ECHO-216 - Pilot Echo-216 Fernando Esparza comes in with an upgraded pelican, being a single controllable pelican version of Captain Cutter’s CLOSE AIR SUPPORT Leader Power. At the cost of 20 unit population, he flies around in a gunship that also acts as a troop-transport that can carry four units around for fast transportation.
  12. BLUE REUNION - Adds The Master Chief himself, Spartan John-S117, to Blue Team as a fourth Spartan that can be spawned by use of The Armory.



Whaddya think of what I came up out of my boredom?

I think it could be an interesting late-game DLC for The Master Chief to become a UNSC Commander should Halo Wars 2 make a tie-in DLC story. I have other Commanders in mind, and will post their designs as well.
