If anything the Flood was always entertaining to fight. What if they came back even briefly in H6. What if you also had to deal with the Flood in WZ FF and other modes as well?
It’s highly likely we’ll get at least a mention of them since…
the Flood is back in Halo Wars 2.

This along with a few other small mentions. There’s a piece of loot crate intel from a while back that suggests Cortana may have been infected with the Logic Plague when she was conversing with the Gravemind between H2 and H3. I hope to the Forerunners on high that they return in a big big way lol

Interesting! I missed that.
I also hope to see the Flood’s return. Prometheans can be interesting at times, but they’re no where near as interesting or fun to fight as The Flood.

They are but they were quickly contained. Essentially, the Flood was a major annoyance and didn’t expand. Literally stuck on the Ark and killed there. So, their return in HW2 ultimately means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I doubt the events of HW2 will affect if we get to see the flood return.
However we are going to Zeta Halo in Halo:Infinity by the looks of it, and Zeta Halo played a major role in the forerunner-flood war. I won’t spoil the events of what happened at that point in the timeline, but it was heavy on flood :b

But could add an interesting twist to things at least, even if their appearance is random and unexpected.
I hope they’re in H6. Need something else to fight besides prometheans now that the covenant are done.

Without any source or info whatsoever I am pretty sure we’ll fight the Covenant again. At least those Alien races, even if they don’t call themselves of Covenant anymore (but I don’t see that.) I’m not sure the status of the Arbiter’s war, but if it’s still going maybe that’s how they’ll be introduced.
I can’t imagine a Halo game without fighting those iconic alien hostiles.

Well it could be The Banished as they have their own army with a lot of the species in the Covenant. Its heavily implied that the battle of Sunaion was the last place of the remaining Covenant and after Osiris hitched a ride on the Guardian, Arbiter and the Swords of Sanghelios finished them all off. In one of the books about Buck (the 2nd I believe) after Blue Team and Osiris land near the Arbiter, Arbiter has a victory feast at their camp that you’re in earlier in the game.
They’re going to be back.

The Banished is a great call, and with Halo Wars 2’s Legendary Ending showing the immediate connection to Halo 5’s events I think that’s more likely now.

But how? I mean, only the Spirit of Fire, which is completely cut off from the rest of the UNSC as we know it, and the Banished. If anything, not even Cortana would know about the quarantine break. This event literally had no impact on the greater scheme of things.
