What if the Covenant had ASSIMILATED Humans into the Covenant?

Hey guys (It’s wiiwillrockyoup, can’t use other account right now), the title says it all pretty much. What role would humans serve in the Covenant? Would the San’Shuyum make Humans the highest rank as a sign of alliance from the Human-Forerunner war? What do you guys think?

considering the humans were so important its hard to say. the coveant wanted to ignite the halo rings but the humans didnt want to. my final guess is probably slaves

O_o

Slaves or researchers.

I’d guess around the same position as the Grunts, though maybe they would be up higher since they are physically bigger.

Keep in mind, the San’Shyuum had conveniently forgotten about their old alliance with the humans, so they wouldn’t make humans higher ranked based on that.

They’ll probably be very low in the hierarchy. Maybe a bit higher than Grunts or Jackals, but still lower than Elites or Brutes.

Definitely not. The San’Shuyum have no recollection of those events. They don’t know of their past allegiance. As all Covenant species have to contribute to the Covenants military by adding their own soldiers, the humans would likely have served in a higher role to the Jackels, they may even have had some commanding roles. The rest of the humans would probably be similar to how they are now. Some mining for resources, some harvesting food, some manufacturing. I wouldn’t be surprised if some humans were put into research roles under the watchful eye of the San’Shuyum.

Well, considering how well we held out during the war, I’d think we’d be about equal to the Brutes, status-wise.

But given time and technology humans can creat thing far more advance than the covenant so i think their role will rise up around the brutes or the elites

You have to remember, only the Prophets are allowed to alter technology. The humans would have restrictions placed on them just like everyone else.

what if humans alter them with permission of the prophets

Highly unlikely. The prophets have always been strict in that area. It would take a long time before they trusted the humans enough and even then it would go against their society’s practices.

I think our military contribution would be a mixture of Spartans, front line troops and spec-ops teams; and perhaps like the Kig-yar we could have our own ships too.

It would never happen anyway, humans have to many ideologies and a tendency to rebel against central authorities and oppressive leaderships. as such we would continuously rebel and we would forge an alliance with the Unngoy, who are very similar. our assimilation into the covenant would cause severe unrest; first we would start an uprising, then the Unngoy would join the movement, then the Lekgolo would feel safe enough to cause havoc. It would be a full blown civil war with brutes, elites, jackals and prophets on one side, and everyone else on the other.

Thats why its a wise not to have humans in the covenant

I can certainly agree with that kind of chain of events, we really are a riot. It would probably end with pacification through severe brain damage like the Grunts, presuming High Charity dosen’t get split in half by the fighting and Humanity is outright purged.

In regards to placement, Atleast from the Perspective of the Elites, humanity would end up in some military role in my opinion. There are enough little mentions of the Elites being impressed by Humanity’s capacity to kick their tails the moment they get on the ground. I think it was the Halo 2 bonus content that referenced a conversation between Two elites where they remarked that even the smallest human would throw themselves at them.
