What came to my mind today while playing slayer and the enemy was using promethean vision. As we know promethean vision can throw your current plan in the trashcan by showing your opponent what gun you are using, where you are looking and pretty much what you are doing. What if the ability would be replaced by another, a little same kind of an AA.
It would work like this:
1 use and the AA meter would need to reload.
The enemy would be shown on the radar, not in front of you.
On the radar it would do the same pulse like wave it does now and when the pulse hits someone it would show their presence only for a second or less.
Then it wouldn’t show what weapons you have/where you are looking/what you are doing. Making it a little less powerful as an AA.
What do you think?
All in favor say ‘aye’. AYE!
PromoVision is indeed a very annoying aspect. You have the perfect hiding spot, you’re about to achieve your first ‘Rampage’ medal, along with perfection, then someone’s like ‘I SEE YOOOOOOOU’. Death.
Of course, one way around this is the ‘Stealth’ upgrade via Wetworks, but everyone wants to always have this equipped. And it probably won’t be in the next Halo.
Heck, AA’s might not even in it! Lot’s of people are giving 343 flak about them!
But, I completely agree with your solution. Perhaps a different color blip instead of the ordinary red, maybe? Great idea!
If removing AA’s altogether isn’t an option then Promethean vision is one of the first that needs fixed up because it’s pretty OP.
I think a nice fix for PV would be making it a power-up and not an armor ability.
The same should happen with Active Camoflauge.

I hate campers. Also PV more or less encourages camping. As far as I see it PV should be removed because it makes talking/strategizing with your teammates rather pointless and overall is just such unfair and nooby concept. HuRR DURR I can see through walls now, who cares about call outs and working with your team. Seriously, though PV needs to get lost.
EDIT: In response to the OP, I guess, but personally PV is just unbalanced in any way you put it as. Though, what you write OP is alright if that would be the only chance we have at making it less cheap.
I think VISR should be standard issue and it, like every other armor enhancement, should gradually malfunction to the point of inoperable as the player takes damage.
I don’t think that ComicBeast meant the hiding spot comment as camping.
But the PV needs to get some fixing or dropped, imo. It feels more like a power-up than an AA. If it would be turned to a power-up in next game, it should have like 1 or 2 uses and that’s it.

Why? Bungie started it in Reach. They were only evolving them and making them more balanced than their Reach versions.

People just like to roll it on 343’s shoulders I think.

Well, it’s the old ‘haters gonna hate’. I try and stay out of it, though. And thanks Lifemocker, I didn’t mean camping. It was simply an example for the topic.

The truth has been spoken!
Seriously though, I don’t find PV to be much of a problem but I guess the game could benefit from it being nerfed a bit.
