This seems like a good compromise. You would be able to see your rank in game, but no one elses. If you did want to see another players rank you could see it on waypoint.
People still wouldn’t be able to show off their rank (which would dampen cheating) but would be able to easily track their progress and skill level without having to navigate the slow and cumbersome app.
