And if bungie wanted to include more spartans as of Halo 2 (still the no 1 thing I wish they did) nylunds novels set Fred, Kelly, Linda (and two others I don’t remember so well) up perfectly to be included from Halo 2 on.
We know that as of Halo: GLasslands, they all still end up on Earth by the time of Hoods speech at the end of H3…so blah.
Unfortunate. I would’ve done things differently. While Chief was getting medals aboard the Cairo, Fred Kelly Linda and Will were getting some R&R. Regrets fleet attacks, Chief becomes engaged at new mombasa and the rest of blue team becomes engaged elsewhere. While Chief is away chasing the prohpet, the other 3 are fighting to defend earth from the REAL fleet that comes after regret leaves. Halo 3:ODST would probably be Halo 3: Blue team, or something, and would detail what the rest of blue team was doing on Earth for the one month while Chief was away.
And it sets it up for them to reunite for Halo 3, and have the entire team go to the Ark.
Oh well.
Who says he wasn’t captured by the Covenant? We only assume he died because of the monologue at the end of the game, but I imagine the Covenant wouldn’t mind capturing a live Spartan.
They could easily bring him back into the fiction.
