What if there are two options, start a game and join a game? BUT when you join a game you get some sort of prestige? Like a shiny medal or an extra couple cR? Some sort of reward? This way people can be proud to join in session, and the people that don’t want to start of their first game awkwardly can be happy.
hey man that’s pretty interesting. (sarcasm)
Are you suggesting players should be rewarded for joining a session in progress?
> hey man that’s pretty interesting.
Did you just compliment yourself?
What if it worked like this? You join and you go into a spawning screen and you can look around to see thats up like the score and how many people there are. If you don’t like it you back out and no one even knows you were there. If you do you pop in on the team with less players, I would be ok with this.
And why do people want rewards for doing something like this?
> Are you suggesting players should be rewarded for joining a session in progress?
Who is going to choose to “join in session” over “not joining in session”? I thought it would make sense to give them a reason to.
> Are you suggesting players should be rewarded for joining a session in progress?
What? “when you join a game you get some sort of prestige? Like a shiny medal or an extra couple cR?” -wasn’t obvious enough for you?
I agree to the premise that there should be an incentive to joining games in progress.
Remember that you will gain XP by the things you do.

It was sarcasm.
I like your idea. Also i’m trying to explain that there needs to be some sort of incentive to join games all-ready in session. Or do you like the idea of just randomly entering a game already in progress?
I don’t think anyone is understanding my point.
> Are you suggesting players should be rewarded for joining a session in progress?
He’s basically saying risk jumping on a losing team for bonus points, or take the safe path a join a new game.

It was a rhetorical question.
Or, while searching for a match, a message will come up, saying that a game already in progress in available. The player is then given the option to join, or decline and continue to search. This seems like it could work alright.

Why would I join without incentive?
I’d be happy to join an in-progress game for a 1.5 xp multiplier
I could care less what they give me, I will still never join in progress.
A shiny emblem or EXP doesn’t mean anything to me when the criteria to get it is effortless.
However, the majority of console gamers are shallow like that, so I suppose it would work.
Excellent idea, my man.
I like this idea.
I constantly joined in-progress games In CoD on the losing team.
I deserve extra xp for it, as you suggest.
Also, someone posted on this topic that you should be able to look at the game’s score.
That defeats the purpose of join-in-progress mm.
The reason is to fill in spaces due ti quitters.
If the team is losing, no one would join.
So it defeats the purpose.
Duh…
Good idea would keep the game full of people when they quit against me. Just make it that they only get that shiny medal if they stay for the whole rest of the game.

I think you misunderstand the meaning of “join in session” on FPS’s.
You don’t get to choose whether or not to join a game that has already been started. You hit search for game and it either puts you into a game that needs more players or a new lobby. That’s how it works in other games at least.
What if it worked like this:
No joining games in progress! There should just be harsher punishments for quitting.

That is why my post is an idea.
